Description Just messing around with some mobile designs. This one is constructed out of inverted round maille. Copper and aluminum rings 14g around 1/4"ID rings. Roughly 14" in diameter. The pic on the right is a side view of it. It's pretty hard taking pics of 3D artwork.

How well does this spin? Is it free-flowing or do the rings catch?
I like that a lot of your work is focused on very rigid, non moving structures, yet this one is based on movement. Awesome.

It's balanced perfect and every ring spins well within the others. It was a pain in the icehole to do it but works pretty slick, I've got more kinetic stuff underway.

I'm excited to see it. I know you've been doing this for quite awhile. How did you make the chainmaille transition to crazy geometry sculptures?

This one is Inverted Round not my usual Captive Inverted Round, same shite except for the captive center ring. I make long chains of the stuff when I'm watching TV so I always have a bunch on hand. I think I'm up to around 350-400 feet of the inverted round family.

Not much of a difference if you ask me
Impressive feat, can we see pics of it in a bundle or something?

The deceptive simplicity is what impresses me about it. This is one of the more beautiful pieces I've seen in your gallery. It gives me ambitions.

It may be difficult to photograph, but the effect came through.

It's quite stunning. Wow! You have the most amazing talent for making chain do things that are totally unexpected.

Looks gorgeous! Love the side-view with the slight variation in the tilt of the rings.
