Description The Old Lion. This is another creature from the old line of animals produced by Windstone Editions in around 1984 , when we were called "Mark Hines Creations".
Since we found no leftover unpainted castings of this guy at all among the boxes of old castings, but we did find the "master" , we have cast some new molds and started casting a small edition of these again. This is Number 1 of 30 in a limited edition of these old toms in tan lion color. I also plan to do editions of these in other colors.

like pink.

Wow!
The sculpt on this is beautiful!

If they are still in production...what would one cost?

I think I remember seeing these back in the 80's when I got my hatching tortoise. Did you ever make a large turtle when you did the animal line back then? This lion's cute but I think I like the face on the Flion better. But I would still love to see these on the website ^_^

Oh are there any pics of that one anywhere? I found a turtle that has your style (back in the 80s) but its damaged and I can't find a signature.

I posted a snapshot of the old tortoise I have. It is a lousy pic but, you can see what it looked like. It is pretty similar to other tortoise sculptures that were around. He is about 4 inches long.
I think Sandicast and United Designs made tortoises also, but they were larger. That is another reason we discontinued the animals, we didn't want to compete with those two!

Thanks so much! He looks a lot like that but he's much bigger. He has a date of 1988. So hoping it was one of yours but sadly I didn't luck out on the rare Windstone

I like him! The details are astonishing, specially the manes! The eyes are a little to big to me, but it gives him that lion like gaze.

What is the height and length of this piece? I must say I'm amazed that you can get a mold t produce that kind of fur.

I'm guessing here because I don't have him in front of me, but I think he is about 8 inches long. Silicone molds will reproduce tiny details.

I like how the mane colors gradually fade from light to dark.

... so you don't notice how crooked his nose is...

That's not a crooked nose. The old boss is just sporting a battle scar from getting punched by other lions a few times while defending his turf.

Well, now that you pointed it out, yes. lmao. But to be honest, from the angle that you shot it at it looks alright.

If you released a pink lion I would straight up die of happiness. Whether I'd be able to to win a bid for it is an entirely different issue.
