Description Finished the low poly model of this gun with all the normal maps in place. Final poly count 8596 a bit high for a prop but with this guns design the best I could do. Also kept a lot of the geometry so it could be used for both 3rd and 1st person. Now to texturing...

Hey Ravital,

I Just stumbled acros your gallery and I really enjoy your work. This piece in particular. I was wondering if your workflow was strictly maya for creating your mesh or if you used a sculpting package as well. From looking at it I would assume there was some Zbrush work done but that's just speculation.

any way great work

Hi,

Thanks glad you liked it.

This was done in Maya and Photoshop. No Zbrush at all.

I created the hi-poly version and baked it on to a low poly version all done in Maya.

All the Normal map details were created in Photoshop after the initial bake.

Thank you the hi-poly... I would say about a week over all (did it on my time off so cant really be specific) the low poly was about a day and another day for the baking and fixing of the normal maps and such. Your stuff looks great - I like that turret gun, any plans on making it game res?

I would like too but I haven't really worked on down resing a model. It is about 32,000 tries at the moment but the majority of the poly count is in the nuts and screws :3

if that is the case it would be super easy to make it game res check out some tuts it will be well worth the time and you'll have a great asset!
