Thanks so much!Β I think it would be fun for shows like The Mandalorian, or Clone Wars, or the upcoming Cassian Andor series, or the Obi-Wan Kenobi series to include classic familiar ships like this that have never really appeared in a movie or on TV.Β There are so many cool existing designs like this.Β I think fans would go bonkers if some ships like this were to make cameos on a TV show.Β Β

Thanks for your comment!Β Yeah, unfortunately fictional worlds are often plagued by pesky inconsistencies like this.Β Maybe we can explain away those inconsistencies by imagining that there were two different ships which were both referred to as the "K-Wing."Β The first, being exactly as as you described from the Black Fleet Crisis, and a later, larger ship, (this one) which, due to it's wing configuration, also came to be referred to as a "K-Wing," thus the resulting confusion.Β Β Β Β Β

Ditto!Β It would be fun if they'd include some cameos of ships like this in the movies.Β What, in particular, do you like best about it?

Honestly, it's presence. It just looks so big and slow and powerful. Ignoring the SLAM of course.

Yeah, wouldn't it be fun to see K-Wings in action during the last remaining episodes of "Star Wars Rebels," or perhaps in a new movie?!

Or maybe in Episode 9? Or in a new Star Wars tv series Iβm planning.

Its like a better version of the star fortress.Β Much faster when it could sprint (it had a special boost system called SLAM that could actually accelerate it to a speed comparable to an A-wing, but it couldn't use any weapons during this time, even missiles), regular speed was also faster (its normal speed was comparable to a Y-wing or B-wing), carried about the same amount of weapons and same amount of defensive systems.Β Also, once its bombs and missiles were fired, it was still dangerous, as one of those turrets actually contained turbolasers.

Imagine if the nose turret breaks off in space/anywhere in the sky and you're in it... Not good!

Hey, it's not my design. Β Β
Well, let's give the designers the benefit of the doubt, and hope that the nose turret can act as a kind of escape pod.Β (That might actually be pretty cool.) Β

You're right.Β I identified a blind spot in the K-Wing's firing arcs and decided to add a turret in the back to correct that issue.Β Β
