Description An epic battle between the USMC and the PLA on the North Korea/China border over a long range PLA anti-shipping gun. Heavily influenced by WW1 pictures. Gotta say, there is a lot going on here, but I'm proud of the Marine to the left of the M5A1 more then anything.

Operation Broke Fuse was NADC Task Force 88's last major combat operation in WW3 before being relegated to police work in the recently unified Korea. The attack was heavily based of the WW1 tactic known as "rolling artillery", modernized by Smith in the NA War. The goal of Broken Fuse was to eliminate/captured the Chinese elevated RAM Gun, allowing NADC TF 124 to invade China via the Yellow Sea and take the important Dalian industrial region instead of fighting through the more heavily fortified Mongolia region.

Broken Fuse started with a one week long air campaign which failed to knock out a single gun (as expected) but did manage to knock out most of the PLAAF in the area, as well as destroying most of the hardened defensive positions (ie, pill boxes).

Early in the morning on the day the ground operation was to start, American, Canadian and Australian batteries fired the second largest artillery barrage in history (only trumped by the that used during Operation Harvest Sky in the NA War), killing most of the wildlife, leaving only muddy ground, heavily damaged trees, and a determined PLA Force.

In this particular engagement, part of the larger battle of Donggang, units from the 22nd MEU and 49 Armoured Division are moving into Anminzhen Ridge a few kilometers East of the main battle group. Defenders are under the Shenyang defense region and are composed mainly of the PLA's 9th Mechanized, but various reserve forces were quickly rushed to the front in support.

After 3 weeks of fighting, the elevated RAM guns not captured by Task Force 88 were destroyed, and NADC Task Force 124, composed of British and Russian forces landed near the Dalian oil field. This gave a break to Indian forces who had Liberated Tibet, and forced the PLA to leave Vietnam. Task Force 88's last battle was a costly yet important battle.

Well, that felt like a lot more then it actually was

Yeah... but I said "After 3 weeks of fighting, the elevated RAM guns not captured by Task Force 88 were destroyed, and NADC Task Force 124, composed of British and Russian forces landed near the Dalian oil field. This gave a break to Indian forces who had Liberated Tibet, and forced the PLA to leave Vietnam. Task Force 88's last battle was a costly yet important battle."

Meaning, the US, Canucks and Aussies did the hard job so the Brits and Ruskies could land safely.
