Description Song for the day: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYJqMU... Fans of the series For King and Empire and For King and Country should recognize that song.
Seriously, that, with Vladimir Radian's alternative lyrics, should be the national anthem -.-

Anywho, practicing composition and making more interesting arrangements of objects in a picture. Included are the LAV-27, a "Canadianized" French VBCI, a Canadian rifleman and a CH-170 Mk.2 Orca gunship. They're fighting against someone, or it could just be a training exercise... (I've been rethinking Red Skies considerably since you last saw me write about it almost a year ago)

Not exactly upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia…

But it's not rare for their to be a maple leaf somewhere on a Canadian Army vehicle.

Why is a star or cross any less ridiculous?

Maybe because you can win a war with a ironcross but win someone ever a war with a maple leaf ¿

Clearly ignoring the 6 maple leafs on the coat of arms. The maple leaf was a symbol of Canada well before confederation; gold being English and green being french.

It was an allied effort, but Canadians were referred to as 'storm troopers' by Germans. Look up Vimy Ridge, or the second & third battles of Ypres.  I'm not going to claim Canada ever single handedly won a war, but they certainly played their parts.

If you knew anything about WW2, you wouldn't have made that silly claim. We'll just say I'm not sure how 24 warships and 59 cargo ships sounds like "most" considering the 332 warships the navy had or the 1000's of merchant marine ships they escorted. Overall, I don't think a single historian would call the Battle of the Atlantic a German victory. I'm also fairly sure most people would agree that the Liberation of the Netherlands wasn't a German victory either. Nor would they say that the Battle of Moro-River, Ortona or the Hitler Line swung the German's way either.

This is all ignoring Korea and A-Stan.

Overall, it's clear you know zip about Canadian history.

thank you for sharing this information

the leaves I totally overlooked
it looks so different from the normal maple leafs

btw with win a war I had meant a war like this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franco-P… won after 9 months and 2 weeks or en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invasion… 1 month and 5 days

However, it is not important

Very nice, glad to see that you've make the background tones lighter, giving a nice touch of depth.
The LAV-27 could use slightly darker shades, just to enhance its 3Dness~

Ahh, just scrolled down and saw it. XD
Well, if you think that your scanner didn't rendered the shadows correctly, you can always tweak them digitally.

Nah, it's me. My scanner can cause problems, but I don't think it was the scanners fault here

For one thing this looks pretty cool. Canucks ftw! But it seems rather flat because of the monotonous shade you put in in the entire pic. Perhaps you could have darken the VBCI( i think) or darken the background so as to emphasize the distance.

That bit with shades was a lesson taught to me by a painting teacher. A lesson I learned recently.

Interesting I wish I had a painting teacher, but alas, I do not.
