Description In the Late Cretaceous of the Western Interior Seaway, a nomadic male Pteranodon longiceps makes landfall on a small rocky island. Soon enough, however, it is plagued by a subspecies of Ichthyornis dispar, but they're not here to remove parasites or mob it into giving up its catch. Silently, a pair of the birds settle upon the grand pterosaur's back and ominous start ripping flesh off the back, lapping up the blood now flowing from the wounds.

Vampire finches do it in the Galapagos; oxpeckers do it in Africa as well.
