A commission piece. This one was fun to work on, the details especially. My best portrait yet I believe. Thanks for viewing.Crits are welcome, but given the nature of the piece being a commission and all, changes are unlikely.

Wow! It took me nearly half a minute and some close looks to realize that it's not a photo.
Especially the hair, I cannot remember having seen anything similar, neither in a painting nor CG rendering. Just - Wow!

Depends on how you define 'fake.' I wouldn't say a painting is fake just because it's digital, it's just a different way to paint.

I don't think that stepherdoodles refered to THAT "fake"...Maybe it was more like the NON physical (in other words DIGITAL) world kind of "fake". Btw...I reeeaaaally like this piece, congrats

Yes by far your most realistic piece! THIS IS AMAZINGLY GOOD! On par with some of the very best digital painters out there. Hell I like this better than some of my own pieces (and a lot of my own I cheated on a little).

When I saw the preview image, I actually thought it was a photo, so just thought I'd click on it (haven't viewed your gallery in a while), and then I decided it was an extremely realistic looking 3d model......until I came to realise that you're still just doing 2d stuff (no matter how cool and detailed your work is), and well, I have to say that this is probably your most realistic (or even "rahll-istic" for the pun lovers) piece of artwork to date.
Very nice work anyway man.
I've been trying to get better at colouring myself, but my problem is that I don't know how to texture, how lighting in images works fully, or even how to do perspective properly.
Just wondered how you first learned how to do all of this, and hopefully it'd help me to a degree too.
Going on holiday for two weeks, and am taking my tablet and laptop with me as I'm working on some fanart for Ergo Proxy, so when I come back and upload them, if you get any spare time, it'd be really cool if you could just take a look and possibly give a few sentences on how to improve the pieces etc.
Anyway, keep up the excellent work.

This is amazing, the only thing I could see that doesn't look exactly like a photo is the ear, and maybe the bottom of the neck... Although none of my stuff even comes close to this, I figured i could still be a critique. I just got a tablet about a week ago
