Description A looong overdue for a friend of mine, Werewolf66, whom I pay tribute with this picture. 66 is lately the only member of Czech furry fandom who called for doing something about all those disputable aspects of fandom that makes us look controversial. He has a follower in me, but in his young age he still needs to figure out how to appeal on human morale to make things work his way. We´ll see some thigns done one day.
I made him read a book even though I realize the oxymoron of a werewolf doing that. But being a reformator I kept the communistic tradition (which many of my compatriots might deny) of depicting 66 doing what reformators do - Spending his time with books... while sitting in prison.

Beautiful. breathtaking. How did the canvas not burn as the wild emotion of this piece raged?

Yeah, I love it.

Thank you very much! Heh, I would not ever expect my medium ever burn through, but it was highly emotional piece for me - First time I felt my style got as good as I would wish it to be.
Fun fact: The guy's character here is put behind bars which later on came true and the guy got into prison... as a security technitian and he couldn't be happier. My pictures have power!!!

That is terrifying, and also jealousy-inducing. Call me crazy, but I enjoy dreaming of a day where I can control the laws of reality with my words. Make of that what you will.

This piece takes my breath away every time I see it.

Chlub se tím ostatním, že jsem ti předurčil docela dobrý job... Mohlo to být namalované v kvádru za stolem a vlastní sekretářkou, ale to bych přestřelil.

Mostly watersoluble tempera paint. The book´s cover is in oil and it mixes rather fine together, I think. You honour me by saying this pic of mine should be fantastic. I´d have deffinately not expect that to happen today.

Thank you very much! This picture did indeed take quite an effort to put together. Luckily all the effort payed up as I am pretty happy with the result. Thank you for appreciating it!

At least the oil paint has the advantage of making the book feel distinct. It's got that sort of waxy sheen that books have. Of course, I don't know what sort of chemical problems combining paints might have.

What a surprise to see somebody actually read to comments through! But you are right - Ever with the horror of that oil doing things I diddn´t like, the book turned out very nice. I guess I´ll give mixing that "cheese and chalk" another try. They just hate each other when put together... But you´ve inspired me to try it. Thanks.

Hard to put it in words, but the effect of a ray of light illuminating someone in a gloomy prison cell seems to imply hope in a time of despair.

There´s an old Czech saying - "Big thieves hang the small ones.". Part of our nature over the history really. As a result, the "bad guys" get away with things while those with noble intentions get screwed. 66 did not end up as bad as in prison, but not very comfortably either.

Revolucionář Were, dobrá idea POvedl se ti, dokážeš vtáhnout pozorovatele do situace díla... Obdivuju ty kontrasty, a jak jsi ve stínech použil i jinou barvu, než černou. Krása!

Btw. jaký je to formát? a jak dlouho jsi ho maloval?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RadosBadger In reply to Lemon-Jaguar [2010-02-10 09:16:29 +0000 UTC]

Wow, I am intrigued, how do you paint these images? I thought at one point you were a digital painter, but this looks more traditional! Was I wrong in thinking you were a digi-painter?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RadosBadger In reply to Malhyanth [2010-02-09 18:09:43 +0000 UTC]

It really is traditional. I have it lying on a shelf right now before hopefully 66 hangs it on his wall. And that´s a very good question - I work with dense tempera paint which is water-soluable. Only cover of the book he´s reading is done in oil, because that lady from a painter shop lied to me about what I was buying.
I´m glad I´m being intriguing with my style though. Thank you for your comment!

I find traditional too taxing for my little brain X333 There are no funky layers to take advantage of, so I tend to just wreck any traditional images I do T^T
