Elsa isn't a waterbender as much as an anthropomorphic personification of the season Winter. Her control of water is limited to just snow and ice, and she can just conjure those out of nowhere.

Hhhmmmm.....let me guess.Elsa is originaly has a snow power, which she can control the snow, but in Avatar TLA there's no such thing is a snowbender, so you made her a waterbender. Because snow is solidified to water,right?

Well, Meelo once said "Mommy look! I'm a snowbender!" when he blasted snow on Pema's face. That's the closest thing they've come to a snowbender. lol.
But Elsa is not a waterbender. Bending is a spiritual martial art. Elsa basically just magically conjures ice.

This is beautiful, because you noticed how Elsa's story is a lot like Princess Yue's - they were both sweet but reserved northern princesses who sacrificed their own desires for the ones they loved.

Just what I was thinking while watching the movie after a whole season of Legend of Korra! Excellent!

I think that this is simply gorgeous. The setting is just right since the moon seems to have a control over water and snow and ice is a solid form of water. Though I can't really tell if the building is a chinese castle or temple, the placement of it is very beautiful. My favorite part is Elsa herself. She's not too elaborate or too simple. There's just the right amount of grace and elegance without her looking too delicate. There's a strength in her eyes that only she seems to have. I'm not surprised that she is a water bender, even though she controls only ice and snow, she is mostly calm. Basically, all I can say about this piece; marvelous work.
