I decided to make one of the obscure real-world weapons in the Russian arsenal, the Dragunov OTs-03 SVU. A short, bullpup, sniper rifle used by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, OMON, and The VDV Paratroopers since 1994, seeing use in The First Chechen War. Chambered in 7.62x54R. Unfortunately, I'm left-handed, so I couldn't use this weapon....Related content

I am really not sure if this design could work - nothing against you - since inner parts can't attach to each other.
And historical entry: Snajperskaja Vintovka Dragunova is being used since 1963, not 94.

Also, the year quote was about the S-V-U Sniper Rifle, not the SVD Dragunov... They've employed it (the SVU) since 1994. I know people do fake weapons work on DA, but I don't. I use real-world weaponry for my artwork.

It's fine, I also find "real-world weapons" people make on DA and (for all intents and purposes) they SEEM real. But where I stand apart is, I research the weapon if I'm not sure that they're real. Somewhere in my gallery there's a "HK ECW" that I did a work of, using someone else's idea, (I gave them credit, I don't steal) the other person's work has a story line behind it that convinced even me! (I've been studying firearms for around 8 years.) But I did my research and realized it was fictitious.... It's all good, my friend. As a friendly way to bring the debate to a close; The SVD gave birth to the SVU. First, there was the SVD back in '63. Next, they thought, "if we can fold the stock, it'll be shorter" the SVD-S. Lastly, the Russians thought "if we can make this a Bullpup, it'll be EVEN shorter!" then came the SVU in '94. Without the SVD, the SVU we know and love wouldn't be here. I appreciate the correction, if I'm wrong about something (I have been before...) let me know. I attempt to keep the CORRECT history alive. Thanks, for the help!

Well, not much to correct, only something interesting. I have a feeling SVU never entered service at Russian - and any other - army, only OMON are using them, but I am not sure about this.
Instead, russian "desantniky" are using SVD with shortened barrel and folding stock, similar to AKS-74U. It's that SVD-S you are talking about, I think, but they never used SVU. Still, I could be wrong, again.

One: yes, the SVDS is the short-barrel, folding stock version of the SVD. Two: Also correct, the Russian Military doesn't use the SVU, they prefer to use the SVDS for their airborne units like the VDV, because it's effective, user friendly to left-handed shooters, and lastly it's cheap! If they DO use it, I'm not aware... I'd need proof if someone says "yes". Also, for the record, I know English, German, Russian, and Hindi... Feel free to Watch, maybe you can bounce ideas off of me for your artwork!

Yeah, I thought so. I remember reading article about it not too long ago when I was looking for material to my story-writing, but I can't remember where it was.
Wow... I can speak only czech, slovakia, english and partially russian, which I am learning by myself. I also know few words from surrounding languages, like polish, german and such.

This is it! Most CoD gamers have no idea what this one is. So I own the only reproduction using PMG! (Maybe the only one on DA.) That makes me happy... Any thoughts before you try your own? Any changes, things to make better?

Hate to burst your bubble but if you search SVU sniper in dA here, there's a couple others, but you are one of the few, however.
I'll take another look, and if I get around to making it, hopefully I'll remember to point out any changes.
