Description Tremorworks: Demongate: Gigante.
Project for ~phoenixsamurai .

This Grecian fellow is fearsome indeed - three heads, six arms, knowldge of many things martial, breath like fire, and entirely too many snake tails in place of legs.

And no, Stanton, I don't want to hear any more of your hentai jibes.

...However, schoolgirls in miniskirts probably should be careful just on general principles.

Love the texture on the tail, and the fire looks too cool!

The Greeks only thought of food when they thought of tentacles.
You've been looking at the Fisherman's Wife's Dream woodblock too much, Rachael.

*sigh*

What scares the hell out of me is that I know exactly which woodblock print you're referring to. Quite by accident, too. I had no idea that the big damned book of Japanese prints would focus more on shunga than on, say, Mount Fuji...

I'd have thought all those arms would get in the way of each other!

I like how the crasshatching on the snake tails give a basic impression of scales as well as shading and the way you've stylised the fire is great!

Thanks very much!

After I did all of the individual scales on the Naga, I just couldn't handle the prospect of doing the same thing on the Gigante. So I just kind of cheated and used the cross-hatching precisely as you've identified it - as both scale pattern and shading. I'm just very fortunate that my hand is steady enough to pull it off convincingly!

Very nice on the shading and overall design!
I first thought of a human Cerberus/Medusa when I saw this.

Now all it has to do is figure out how to move without tripping itself and fight without cutting off one of its own arms (or heads!).

You know, that's actually a good point...

It makes me wonder about some of the Hindu deities that have scads of arms and heads - which head's cerebellum is controlling which set of arms, after all? Who's in charge of sharpening blades tonight? You know? Crazy stuff...
