Page 1: Most of the time I draw Ginger without her hat first to get her pose right, then I put it in and adjust it to suit her actions. I'm keeping the storybook idea for the opening and the ending, and of course you all know about the dragon, right?

Page 2: Hazel is still going through some evolution. I need her to look old but she has to be simple enough to draw on dozens of frames over and over. She's also not a truly wicked witch, so the more friendly faces below suit her better.

Page 3: This little scene won't be in the final film, but it was fun anyway to draw Ginger having trouble with her flying lessons. Perhaps she should get some training wheels for her broomstick.
