Description A 9-month-old tegu lizard, similar to the monitor, scampers along the newsroom floor at the Valley Morning Star in Harlingen, TX. The lizard should grow to around 4 feet long and has a life span of about 10 years. These reptiles are bred as pets, but do best in their natural habitat -- the South American mountains and forests. This particular tegu visited the local media outlets to spread the word about a new Amazon exhibit at the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi.

Dumb quesiton, does it belong to someone who brought it in or it is a wild one that somehow mysteriously wandered in? Cuz I wasn't sure. Silly me. Cute tho!

Don't worry about the double posts, Lisa... I actually explained where he came from in the description.... he's one of the animals that is going to be on display at the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi.

Guess I got confused in your description. My bad. So I take it it's not wild then, heh. That's coolt ho. That aquarium sounds cool. I like reptile exhibits. The Houston Zoo, when we were down there a couple of months ago, had a huge reptile house.

He's sorta wild... he was a baby... only 9 months old, so he doesn't know how to behave with humans yet. But the key is to get them to interact with people as much as possible to have them domesticated.
