I always liked one particular moment in the Mechwarrior 3 intro... This is my rendition of it.I've worked on this picture on and off since early Autumn and I'm so glad it's finally over and done with. Sorry I kept you guys waiting for this one for so long after those teaser pictures but I just couldn't get it done any faster.

It is the 31st Century, mankind is once again at war. The battlefields of the future are dominated by huge, robotic war machines, known as Battlemechs. Piloting these awesome weapons of war, are men and women, the elite of the elite. Knowing that each battle could be their last. They are... Mechwarriors.

Get ready, Lance leader. They're coming.
*Firefly gets destroyed*
Oh man....
Copy that, Ground Commander. Hold position.
*Smoke Jaguar Summoner and Timber Wolf walk out of the smoke and start splitting up*
Problem, Lance Leader. Jaguars are splitting up. I repeat: the 'Mechs have split up.
Copy, ground commander, we're on them. Fireflies one and two, track the Thor.
*Zooms on the Summoner and Timber Wolf*
Roger that Commander, we're almost there.
We'll handle the Mad Cat. Big Al stand-by to intercept him.
Moving into position.
*Timber Wolf runs at full speed destroying tanks and killing soldiers before he runs into the Atlas, piloted by Big All, and panicks by firing his ER Small Laser into the Center Torso of the 'Mech before getting hit by three Large Lasers*
Interception successful.
*Lance Leader's Mad Dog walks onto the scene*
Die Clanner....
*Fires both LRM-20s into the Timber Wolf's Right Torso as Big Al unloaded his Large Lasers and Machine Gun into the Timber Wolf's Center Torso causing a bright light to emerge from the 'Mech*
He's going critical! *Yanks the ejection handle between his legs* Ejecting!!
*Summoner walks into the city, pauses, then continues on as the two Fireflies watch it from afar*
We're tracking the Thor. Lance Leader, do you read?
*Lance Leader limps toward the target area*
Moving to target area, leg damage is slowing me down.
*Summoner marches through the city, vaporizing an infantryman, before stomping on another*
You'll have to slow him down while I get into position, you're going to have to be the bait.
*Firefly MechWarrior sighs*
Understood, sir, we're on it.
*They Jump Jet down and target the Summoner*
Have lock!
Fire!!
*Both Fireflies fire their LRM-5s off, destroying the LB-10X-AC of the Summoner, as it destroys the right Firefly with its ER PPC causing a final scream to emerge from its pilot as Lance Leader attempted to lock the Summoner with his LRM-20s*
Come on... come on...
*First Firefly attempts to limp away, but is too damaged to do so*
Anytime now, sir...
Hang on.
*The Mad Dog's targeting computer rang as it locked the LRMs on target*
That's it!!
*Lance Leader fires, all 40 missiles rushing towards the Summoner before colliding, destroying the cockpit of the 'Mech*
Mission Accomplished. *sighs*
*Summoner falls on its back, cockpit and Left Torso LRM-15 on fire*

I swear I've been using this picture as my desktop background for years combined with using sounds from MechWarrior 3 for my computer noise. MechWarrior 3 was my first game into the BattleTech universe.
Having stared at this background occasionally while I waited for something, I get to appreciate how much you stuck to the canon design of the 'Mechs depicted, the jets, LT LRM 15, RA ERPPC on the Thor Prime just for example or the detail in both the Mad Cat's arm and it's ER Large Laser, ER Medium Laser holding pod or the Center Rear Torso showing the two little turbine looking things.

The classic designs are timeless, but to be honest, I very much like the versions in Mechwarrior online.

I think the versions in Online captured the looks of BattleTech very closely (I don't like the idea of all the Clan 'Mechs having such smooth, curved cockpit canopies like the Black Hawk and *especially* the Thor, it's lack of a boxy cockpit doesn't feel right.

Nice. I think my favorite was when the Summoner stopped to look and it seems pay homage to the fallen Timberwolf

I put simple colors in 3d and then painted on additional textures in Photoshop after I had rendered the picture. In other words, I cheated a bit.

You all know the rest... The BEST MW game, Hands down, short of table top. If they let players play the Clans in MechWarrior Online, that game is doomed. Clan Tech is simply too OP. It would be like giving only one faction in WoW PVP gear.

I always liked the shot of the Atlas trying to fry the Timber Wolf with it's chest lasers, before the Mad Dog shows up and goes "Die clanner...", and the mug shot of the Atlas going all out right after. ^^

Amazing, you should make more renditions of the intro, (EX: Madcat meets Atlas, Fireflys attack Thor, Vulture kills Thor.)
It would be awesome to see some MW4 renditions too.

Originally yes, but mechs were much taller back then. In later years they scaled down the mechs to more realistic sizes and Mad cat became slightly taller as it should be.

Ahh, memories. Yes, this scene impressed the hell out of me awaaay back in the late 90s. Very frightening moment with the rear POV on the 'mechs as they swiveled their torsos back and forth, taking in the plethora of targets, -while said targets were running away as fast as they could. "Ohshit, ohshit, ohshit!!"
Of course as many others here have already stated, your rendition just blows that poor old cutsene away with the amazing detail. Looking forward to seeing more of your work. Thanks for sharing!

That poor firefly pilot. died from a full blast to the cockpit. least the thor got streak SRMed in the face.

And when I open files of the mounted image, autorun and setup files don't work, when you double clicking it sand clock appear for a couple of seconds and then disappear. Win 7 x64.
