Actually no. This is a finished ink drawing. I don't paint my ink drawings at all.

wow....
I live up in Yorkshire (well, for about eight months of the year anyway)and this is simply amazing. Whilst being fantesy in style it manages to show Yorkshire as it is as a spiritual place. It looks like how the real place SHOULD look, how our inds could percive it It's a simply beautiful piece of work that captures the soul of the county

Love your ink works. They're very detailed without ever being messy and just the right amount of shading.
I really wonder how you apply the ink, with a small brush, or a fountain pen or so?

Moorstream In reply to puimun [2009-04-19 12:27:33 +0000 UTC]

Neat, I wouldn't have guessed! Didn't think there were gel pens that would produce these nice and sharp lines. I thought you must be using some kind of steel nib pen. But I guess there are good quality gel pens as well!

Did you count how many swirls you drew? It would probably take an hour to count with a good enough zoom.

I noticed what you did with those swirly bubbles on your trees! I like the new experimenting that you've been doing with the two styles, it's really rather inspiring. Makes me want to experiment too.

I did think England when I saw this, but I also thought NorCal with those trees, they are supposed to be oaks right? Or am I just projecting this? I must have NorCal and England on my mind.

I really like the landscape... with the broken wall. It really makes it look so graceful, in a way, like a peaceful unknown place.

The bubbles are very interesting, it makes me think of that being the oxygen they produce, if it was visible. I guess in reality it wouldn't be a bubble, but this reminds me of the Sci-Fi bubble cities. Good job.
