Wow, there are so many details that you don't notice untl you've looked at it for a while - the faces in the hedge, the fox who looks like he's about to lead her in.

Your penmanship is stunning - I wish I could ink like that! Superb!

Can I ask what the idea behind this is?

When I look at it, it reminds me of me - walking along a normal street, wishing there was another place beside this sidewalk and this modernism - almost knowing that if I looked hard enough, I'd find this mystic castle - feeling caught between real and fantasy.

Anyway, love it!

Nice pic! I like how the top of the picture is so detailed and has so much happening, while there's a lot of space below it. It's an interesting effect.

I love how it feels like a modern Sleeping Beauty. The composition is great!

The contrast and composition of this is wonderful. The contrast bewteen the field and the castle is quite nice. I can never draw large blank spaces well and make them look done.

What a lovely use of black placement! Having so much white in the foreground only makes the castle in the background stand out more. A lovely image!!

Actually I should amend that. It's not -completely- for no reason. I'm putting together a second volumn of "Inklings" and I was trying to fill out the last few pages.

Haha... cool. I have to say I really like your line work. It actually made me think of the White Wolf RPG Changeling the Lost, which is why I asked. Since I discovered your art on an RPG artist site, it didn't seem implausible.

I knew only your watercolor work so far. It is great to see your line work. Interestingly, it is quite different in style, somehow. But equally beautiful.

I love your ink work. Do you sketch it out in pencil first or just go with the flow?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

puimun In reply to TheDemonSurfer [2009-01-21 22:01:03 +0000 UTC]

I do a very quick pencil sketch, usually no more than 5 minutes. I like to leave most of it to my imagination as I do the inking.

And the princess decided she was board of being locked in the highest room in the tallest tower and went for a walk. To the confusion of many knights that stopped by to rescue her that day.

Great job. The hedge details are so minutely drawn they are amazing.

So beautiful! It reminds me of The Brothers Grimm "Sleeping Beauty": "But around the castle there began to grow hedge of thorns, which every day grow higher, and at last grew close up round the castle and all over it, so there was nothing of it to be seen..."
