So this is like, the suckiest picture ever, but oh well. It was either this or a picture of me wearing the dress, and I don't think you really want the latter.So yeah, I made this dress for Halloween, based off of Helena's dress in the music video by My Chemical Romance of 'Helena'. It took like four days to make in total. Kinda. I got rather lazy towards the end, though, and just decided to buy some ribbon for the midsection, instead of using a piece of cloth that actually would match the rest of the fabric of the dress. I based it off two different dress patterns, since I don't have any dress forms to fit anything on. What else... Um... the fabric is a combination of tulle, taffeta, silk, and silk shantung. (haha, cheap fabric)
So yeah.

Pretty much all of it is silk shantung, except for the ribbons and the tulle. It's not the most high quality fabric, but it's pretty easy to work with and it can be found at most fabric stores.

I know that Hot Topic was selling one similar to the dress about a year ago. If you know how to sew, I'm sure you could find a simple black dress and turn it into the Helena Dress.
