While I'm in the sharpie and crayon groove, I just had to draw a picture of my Chunk, the clown loach of love! Once I did some life drawings to get the pose right (which is harder than it sounds. My loaches are in 'bed' after 11pm and rarely sit still when they're awake. Fortunately, Slim ..my other big clown.. was awake and helped me out by staying relatively still ^_^), I was able to finish this picture up in under an hour throughout the wee hours of the morning. Yay for early morning motivation.Love the loach! For he loves you (especially if you feed him XD).

what size of a tank do you have? Clown loaches get big. over a foot if im not mistaken.

I have a 37 gallon, and clowns can get that big, yes. It takes years though. My biggest is pushing 4 inches and i've had him for close to three years.

when i first started out i had an Oscar in a 30 Gallon
i miss him he was so personable.
unfortunately when we moved the tank downstairs he didnt make it T_T
now i have a 90 Gallon that i attempted Saltwater in (didn't work out to well) but im planning of converting it to Fresh Water and getting a Manganese Cichlid.

Cichlids are great, it's just too bad most make terrible community tank fish XD. I'm fond of the dwarf cichlids though. I did have a Kribensis that was an entertaining fish, though. She liked to shove around the loaches when they got too close to her cave XD. Sorry to hear about your oscar though

Manganese get to be about 14".
I love Kribs, they are so playful with other fish, i would deffinately recomend thm as a Cichlid for Community tanks, aswell as any Rams, Key Hole Cichlids are very nice but can bully some fish around if a mated pair forms.
As for the Oscar i liked him but he was starting to anger me with his suicide attempts. He kept on jumping out of the aquarium.

I've kept Rams, too. Loved the little buggers, especially the blue ones. The water conditions aren't right for them, in these parts, though. Too hard for what's recommended ><. I could keep them for a few months, then they'd just go and die on me, while all the other fish thrived.

Ya i love them all the same though... i was thinking about a Gar but then i saw what happened to this one guy at a petstore cleaning the Gar tanks... lets just say it was bad.
Rams are VERY finicky that is the only problem with them. i had a German Gold it was in with my Oscar when my Oscar was still small and they were great friends, even after Jack The Ripper (as i so affectionately had named the Oscar) got big enough to eat the Ram he left him be.
As for the Suicide attempts yes it was very frustrating.

I'm amazed - mine only love each other, and killed off most of my other fish - so I had to put them in their own tank.
