Description Here is the result of 6 days of work.

Many of you have been waiting patiently for something new from me so here you have it.
This was a collab between myself and JohnWarren

John was kind enough to produce a nice terrain rendered in terragen while i basically created the heavens.
There was a lot of work that went into this, deffinately one of my best yet. After spending most of the time on the explosion trying to develop it more and more i got carried away from the rest. So i said screw it, its good enough.

I tried to get a nice blend between the landscape and the explosive sky, but i didn't try to take the viewers eyes away from the lower half.

I used resources from previous works, but also created brand new ones to get a different atmosphere, most of the time you can tell when the artist is using the same old crap over and over.

John will also be submitting this piece as hes the one with the prints account and i'm not, so free print is well worth it Please go check out his gallery, hes an awesome terragen artist, one of my best. So shower him with your love, if your not lazy.

the explosion of the planets is just great - I like the details of it.. it shows how much work went into doing it... I like the way you treated the whole sky either - it's very clean, but detailed at the same time (I always want to make something nice and clean, but during work some space dust always occur at the finish) only one thing doesn't look right in my opinion - the terrain look like a lot smaller and flashed by some spotligth from the top - I understand what you've tried to do (the light from the planents impact, as I presume), but it looks a bit odd and I think this is the part that requiers more work...

This is an incredible pice of work. Everything was put together effectively! Composition is all even and the detail is fantastic, the planets, terragen render, and the space itself is incredibly well put together and thought out. Props to the both of you and .

I like how the planets add to the overall scene and not jsut steal the limelight allowing the users eyes to take a setp back and see the product as a whole. The full view reveals incerdible detail in the planet texture work and esp with rhe collision impact. The starfield iss basic but it work well that way as it wont distract the viewer form the planets. My only gripe wouuld be the slighly dull lookin palnet near the middle as the textures appear kinda flat.

Kudos to Johnwarren for his work on the terrain. That surface map and atmopshere rock!

This wa definately worth the long download on my 56k to full-view. From me.

I wish there were more star work or shadowing or something in the sky, but it does lead the eye to the spectacular render at the bottom.

this is the good shit, superb work by both artists, this the collision is flawless, and you've definately done a good job in not detracting from the terrain scene, i gotta admit that i have taken a liking to that ringed planet appearing from behind the cloud. Terragen is very nicely done indeed too, i think the atmosphere made it what it is, as the contrasts between shadows and light definately work well for me. Textures and clouds are very nice, as to be expected. I gather psamtik did the transition, which is one of the best transitions i've seen in a space/terragen image, especially when clouds are in the equation.

This spiel is translated into a +fav for short.

I love it! It doesn't look re-hashed at all! I really do appreciate that you put so much into these things. The amount of work and love you put into it is very evident and his landscape is awesome...both of your parts mesh well! Great collab!

BTW...what program do you use for your contribution?

Holy wow. I don't know what to say. I think this is the most impressive thing I've seen from you yet. The sense of realism is amazing, yet there's still that fictional sense. From the thumnail I thought the explosion between the moons/planets was a fairy. I must say I was disappointed when I realized it wasn't, but it still looks just as great

Good work dude. The only thing I don't really enjoy is the one ringed planet, I'm not too hot about that texture there. But everything else is great, very good work.

That is one hell of an awesome render but I don't get the name. What does two planets crashing into each other have to do with conflict?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

psamtik In reply to Darktalyn [2004-03-04 03:35:17 +0000 UTC]

Hmm i wonder

"conflict

\Con"flict\, n. [L. conflictus a striking together, fr. confligere, -flictum, to strike together, to fight: cf. F. conflit, formerly also conflict. See Conflict, v.] 1. A striking or dashing together; violent collision; as, a conflict of elements or waves.

2. A strife for the mastery; hostile contest; battle; struggle; fighting."
