You did a great job with the shading and control over the values to bring out the 3-dimensional illusion of the car. The reflections around the front of the car was well done but towards the rear-end, the outline seems a tad stiff/solid. It could be softened and blurred a bit more to really push back the rear and make the front pop more. Aside from that, the tires could be improved on in terms of a more even shape and the circumferential surface of the tire could be shaded a lot more rather than leaving it almost unshaded/grey.
Overall, great job; just remember to relax more on the outline of the object when it's away from you and keep the front as sharp as possible.

Thank you very much for your comments and thoughts.  I really do appreciate them very much.  I do see what you mean about the back end of the car.  The tires are a constant problem and I am constantly working on it.  Thanks again as I said I do appreciate the input very much.

I'm also a ProjectComment  commenter.

And first off, I think that overall you did an amazing job there with the general shape of the car and the shading of the body. The light reflections work really well, are neither too glaring nor to subtle, and your shading is very even, very realistic. It's a precise drawing with a lot of attention to detail, like the little screws or bolts along the windshield, the holes in the hubcaps (or hubs?! Sorry, no car expert) and the tread pattern.

It's overall a really cool drawing. I only have three little suggestions for improvement, two of them being minor. Let's do the minor ones first - for one thing, only the tyres on this side of the car have a zig-zaggy tread pattern, the front tyre on the other side of the car has straight lines. I think even considering it's farther away and less detailed, the zig-zag pattern would still be visible. And for a second minor thing, I'd shade what can be seen of the inside of the car through the windshield, a bit darker than the rest. Even in a well-lit environment for nice reflections I would expect the inside to be a shade darker. But like the previous one that's minor.

The only other improvement I would suggest is that something looks a tad off about the shape of the tyres. They don't look evenly round, but apear to taper a bit towards bottom. I know it can be really tricky to draw a round shape at an angle and still make it appear perfectly round and give it the perfect shading, too, but I think a bit more work here would go a long way, as then every last thing would be perfect about the drawing.

Altogether you've done a really good job here and I think it shows that you enjoyed drawing the car! Can I ask how long the whole lot of time was that it took to finish the drawing? (Just being curious. )

Hello there~
I am from ProjectComment ! I want you to know I found you reference pic on the Internet (here : img.favcars.com/jaguar/d-type/… ) , and will base my analyse on it, since I don't know every detail of the Jaguar Let's begin...

First, the points I like in your piece :
- You did an amazing job with lightning and shading : this is not too dark so we can see all the little reflections on the car's body. Adding some white lines on the curves was important to reder of the different volumes of the car, and you perfectly did it.
- I admire the way you drew the windshield and windows, since it is pretty hard to come up with a good result with pencils when you draw transparent things.
- Leaving the background white is perfect because it highlights the car, which is the main object here.

A few things could be improved :
- The nose of the car seems a bit small, in my opinion. The ventilation hole is a bit larger in the photo. The same applies to the headlights.
- The exhaust pipe, on the side of the car, has to be a bit more under the car's body. Maybe putting some stronger shadows at the bottom of the door would add to the effect.
- The tires are smaller than the original.... I don't know if it is because you let a lighter part on their side, or if you made them too small.

You did an amazing job with this piece, so keep up the good work. I you have any question on what I said, do not hesitate

Hello professor, here we go again
First of all I have to say you have an excellent taste in cars. I wish that was my ride if I had the money. But enough, let's get over to talking about art. I generally like the metallic shine of the car body and the smooth transitions from light to shadow. Great work there. However, what bugs me a bit are the tires. They should look round (like circular round), but they don't. Especially the front tire looks somewhat deformed. I'm afraid to tell you that diminishes the quality of the picture a little. Foreshooting circles is not totally easy, so you're going to work that out with a little practice. For this particular picture, I'd suggest you try out the liquify tool in Photoshop (or an equivalent program).

I'm with ProjectComment

Thank you for the comment about the cars. I just like to draw cars that I think have great lines and shapes. I know what you are saying about the tires.  My goal, however as crazy as it may seem, is to draw the entire car free of straight edge's rulers, compasses, Photoshop etc.  No tools other than a pencil and eraser.  The more I do it the better those foreshortened tires will get.
I do appreciate your suggestions however and please keep making them.  Thanks again and have a great day.

I really love this drawing. I love seeing different cars, especially in detail, on paper. really beautifully done. If i may give one crit, is that I generally love to see glass reflections on the windshield or light reflections. really makes it pop. otherwise it's really fantastic!
