Description I always had a hard time trying to make scratch sprites of my own characters because my brain automatically tries to sprite them as I'd draw them. That doesn't mix. While people keep saying, "It's about time!" I keep telling them that this isn't the first Twofold sprite but the first that wasn't horrible enough to hide from the world.

He's in a plain pose just because I need to work on his look and style before doing other poses. I'm pulling from the Capcom book of dynamic proportions because that's always been my favorite sprite look.

Thanks! There's still work to do in improving the style but I don't hate it like I do most of my other from-scratch stuff.

The style doesn't look Capcom-official yet but that's the kind of style I want to aim for. Something that pops out from the background instead of looking too slick and blending in with everything else.

hmm... even it is not the "official" style, it looks too much a MvC sprite
i still envy you!

It's definitely not 100% SFA or MvsC style but it's probably close to the MvsC style since I made so many comic book character edits over the years.

No need for the envy! Just keep working at it and you will be much better than I am at spriting

He's looking aweseome. I love his left arm

What's he about?

He's currently a mysterious ninja guy who becomes less mysterious after the first issue of the comic. He's a character I made up when I was a kid and this is him in his current outfit.

To this day I still have a hard time with Alpha/Marvel spriting because I spend so much time trying to blend the outlines into the BG correctly (tip: R-0, G-111, B-0 is a great background to sprite on).

You've pretty much nailed that technical part here, and the arm muscles actually look like they were taken from a real game sprite. Can't wait to see the poses..

It's always good to hear praise from you because you definitely know what you're doing.

I got a bit better scratch spriting arms from replacing so many arms and arm parts on the edits. It eventually becomes instinct as to what to simplify or exaggerate. Knowing how a draw a semi-decent arm by memory helps a lot.
