It depends on the context for me. Anything can be evil in a story setting, providing it serves the plot and character development. In the setting of Narnia it makes sense. The curse of their servitude is later lifted and the fight on the "good" side in later novels.

Thank you!
Well a lot of the creatures that aren't seen as villains in Caspian were basically slaves to the white witch, I don't think they had much say in who they were aligned with.
I feel like a lot of the designs in Caspian (since they were widshots) were with actual wolf dogs. They also used wolf dog hybrids in the running shots for the lion the witch in the wardrobe, but since they didn't really have many talking sequences with the wolves they didn't have to create CGI models :3

I was angry when he died!
Me- Grrrrr! Peter! You have no respect for wolves!
Peter- O_O But they're the villains, are you crazy?
Me- Yeah. But the lion was too creepy. Lions are disturbing
Aslan- O_O Excuse me?!
Me- Happy Appy! Over here! This guy doesn't like wolves! You too San!
Happy Appy- ...O_O Who can I "help"?
San- How dare you show 0 respect for wolves!

Hah, I liked Margrim, but in Peter's defense, it was self defense you know.
Margrim wasn't just an animal that Peter killed, he was a serious threat and an actual adversary.
Sadly though there are very few good/well developed wolf characters in literature and films. It kinda makes me sad because they're very beautiful animals and have a lot of potential in a fantasy setting.
Also when I see them in movies they are usually poorly animated/poorly designed so it was nice to see Narnia do a good job animating the wolves.

Thank you so much!
Yup. Learning more and all. Since I rarely get to draw I put all I can into each piece. Really enjoyed working on this one. I like being able to phase out and work on some personal art.

I love the books and movies. I like visual things, so that's probably why. Although I'm not happy with the things they changed, especially in Prince Caspian.

IMO VotDT was FAR worse. It was unrecognizable from the book. It was such a disappointment too, because that was the book I thought would make the best movie.

me too. most movies I'll give the directors and writers a little creative license, but that was nonsense. In fact, a friend of mine met Douglas Greschem (CS Lewis' step son who the films had on as advisor to ensure it stuck well to the book). She asked him why VotDT was so far from the original. He told her that he BEGGED the film makers to make it closer, even in small ways, and they refused.

Outrageous.
I'm not much of a book person myself beyond a few things, but even so I hate when they "throw the book out" and just do whatever the heck they want.
It's a huge annoyance.
Although there are a few exceptions. I haven't been able to read many Sherlock Holmes novels/short stories. However, I watched the Sherlock Holmes movies with Robert Downy jr. and Jude Law and I thought they were pretty good even though they wrote their own story and added some aspects of the books. I got to read a tiny bit of the Hound of the Baskervilles and I was really impressed with how close they got the characters and general atmosphere. Really enjoyed them :3

yup. there are movies who do it right. The 1995 Pride and Prejudice is a great example. It's practically verbatim.

.... okay, please please please do more Margrim fanart at some point. This is AWESOME. You captured him so well (I also love this part in the movie, tbh, the trailer gave me chills every time it came on at this part xD). I also really love the lighting you did on this, the backlighting on the back of his neck is superb in particular, and I love the glow from the windows that you can see reflected on the trees. Gorgeous. :3
