more like rim lighting - the light's hitting him from his back and throws a halo of light around his silhouette. The dust he's dissolving into is catching light and it looks like he's sparkling
at least, that's the theory XD

lol as much as i like the concept, I'm more partial to vampires susceptible to sunlight :Q

lol It's kinda funny because that book was one of the two things on my mind when I drew this XD
the character itself is mine but when I started doing the effects I kept thinking about that scene in that book, though I doubt Simon stripped himself before the sunlight hit him 'w' I always imagine him with a trenchcoat of sort, but I read that book back in middle school so I might not have the most accurate memory. oh well.
