Description Edit: concept art by: Adam Baines
[link]

Hard Surface model of a high tech gun. Most detailed gun I've modelled so far. Yay!

I don't know who the concept artist is, but please let me know if anyone knows of him/her... So I can properly give credit to the concept design. thank you

Just... frigg'n awesome, mate!

Question lang; when you model a gun like this, is it all made from a single mesh/model/primitive/whatever? Or do you model them in separate parts?

Pogimonz In reply to thefirewarriors [2010-01-12 15:14:52 +0000 UTC]

sup bro.. I model them in seperate parts, as they would appear in real life.

2 advatages:

I'd have less vets to tweak, which is easier to work w/ and less verts to tweak.

Since they're seperate, they're animatable once thrown in a game engine or used in cinematic movies.

xD Ah, I guess I'm on the right track, then. Now I just need to figure out how to make nice shapes and details using less vertis.

Oh btw, judging by the concept art, methinks you're missing a piece off the lower reciever, just under the barrel. Not having the extension makes the position of the LAM look awkward.

Pretty insignificant, I only found it because the design of the gun was PWNAGE and I studied it intensely... too intensely... xD
