I know I've always said stuff like "omg TDA is overused" and "omg *insert thing here*" is overused but
you know what? Fuck that. I've had a change of opinion and i'd just like to share it publicly,
Please note before I start that this is not aimed at anyone in particular, and it is not intended to start drama. I did not write this to "get back at anyone" or anything. I'm writing because it is my opinion.
so. (also this is kinda similar to EndiBell 's journal if anyone wants to check that out too)

If everyone and their mother wants to use..for example, TDA. You know what? let them.
Sure, it's overused as hell, sure it looks bad, sure it looks tacky, sure it may look this and that and the other. But you know..so what? If it gives someone happiness and it's their hobby, let them. If it makes someone happy and is a fun pass time for them to edit TDA Miku for example; fine. Even if their edits suck, it's fine. There's no need for said person to be hated on.

As long as they're not harming anyone, or breaking rules (In which case yeah, they need to be corrected or called out) just let people do it. Let people make their TDA OCs or FNaF models or Undertale videos. They may look like death , sure. They may look (for lack of a more polite word) shitty. In fact, to be honest..most do. No offence.

But honestly. As long as they're not doing anything illegal. What is the problem with it?

It might make them happy to upload hundreds of TDA OCs. It may look horrible to others, but it's a hobby that gives them happiness. It's fun to them. They like doing it and they enjoy it. They may not be talented, but they don't do anything wrong. Therefore who is anyone else to hate them for doing something they enjoy?

The same can be said about many things in the MMDC. For example, MMD and Photoshop. There's the whole thing that "lens flares drawn hair is boring" etc. Yeah, sure. It is indeed overused as hell; and boring at that. And it does look bad, unless done right. I've seen plenty of pictures with MMD and Photoshop looking absolutely awful- my own included too.

But you know what?
Let people upload what they want. If it brings them happiness, then let them do it. Don't stomp on others' happiness just because they're doing something that's been done before.
It's the same with making Miku models. Making "Meet the MMDer" things. Making Miku Append edits. Yeah they're all overused as hell; but who is anyone to stop it? Let people upload what they want.

Of course, there is an exception to this when people are blatantly copying each other. Like completely copying a picture or model. The same goes when someone is breaking a model rule or something. Or if someone is uploading content that is harmful, upsetting, or inappropriate. In cases like that, it's okay to whine about their content. because they're actually doing something wrong in that situation. It's okay to hate on them because they are blatantly disobeying rules and ripping others off. But apart from that I see so many people being called boring and talent-less and generic and literally stamped on, just for using TDA or using Photoshop or using an effect or something like that.

Just..let people be. Let them make their generic TDA miku edits. Let them fiddle with the same old effects. Let them draw their badly drawn hair in Photoshop. Let them have fun.

Let them do what they want, as long as they aren't harming others or breaking rules.

If you really want this "community" to change like everyone says, you're going to have to stop hating on every little thing you don't like.
Reasons like this is why I've seen new people afraid to join the MMD "community". they are literally too afraid to join because they are afraid to be hated on from the get-go. and it needs to stop.
