Description Fluke DigiEX MME
-A versatile tool for electricity work, electronic lockpicking, network maintenance and also cyber- and standard system hacking. Has sensors for detecting currents inside walls and can be used to access most electricity- and data infrastructures.

DeWALT Grappler
-Used by extravehicular maintenance and construction workers as a very cheap alternative for jetpacks and the like. Has a laser sight and a 50m carbon nanotube cable with a powerful electromagnet in the tip that can attach to surfaces with considerable force.

Laser microphone
-Since modern signal-altering radio communications are almost impossible to intercept, the best way to listen in on the enemy is simple eavesdropping. This device uses a laser beam that's pointed to a glass of a window or a spacesuit's helmet and a reciever analyzes the tiny fluctuations in the reflection and translates them into sound. With steady hands one can listen in on conversations miles away.

Shock dagger
-An evil device. Nicknamed "Ghost blade" this is the true weapon of a space assassin. It's dual blades each have a conductor, + and - poles, and pressing the trigger activates a powerful electric current between 1 blade, the substance in between (victim's flesh), and the other blade. This surge is powerful enough to knock down any electrical systems of a space suit, so it immediately disables any radio communications or outside monitoring. So the victim can't shout for help and simply vanishes from the screens, never to be heard of again.

Guns

Glock 88 LASER pistol
-A standard space sidearm. Not very powerful but gets the job done. Can't penetrate electromagnetic shields or cloaking fields.

Colt M16B11 Pulse director AR
-US military standard-issue assault rifle. Fires concentrated ionized bolts of helium gas. A very large ammo capacity. Accepts many modifications such as the AI autonomic missile launcher.

Remington PX-1 plasma gun
-A cheap and powerful plasma gun. Uses loose-release helium cases, which shoot the ionized gases out of the barrel in erratic formations. The plasma ricochets from surfaces as extremely hot sparks if fired at the surface from an awkward angle.

Kalashnikov AK-306
-You can't go wrong with the good old AK. The 7.62x39mm cartridge has been around for centuries and is still in use. It's the standard-issue assault rifle for terrestrial UASR troops. Cheap and reliable.

Winchester 9RD 9mm rail driver
-A devastating anti-armor weapon. Uses high-current conductors to accelerate 9x76mm FMJ pellets to incredible speeds, with the muzzle energy of over 300kJ. Has an anti-recoil barrel and magnetic absorbers to compensate for the acceleration but it still kicks like a bull.

Homemade 9mm coil gun
-Uses the same ammo as the 9RD but instead of using high-current conductors this gun uses induction coils set in a way that each one accelerates the bullet further and sends it flying at high speeds.

Accuracy International L2M LASER sniper
-The sniper's dream. No arching, no wind compensation, no coriolis effect, and absolute penetration. Uses a wavelenght-alternator pulse that can bypass many electromagnetic shielding and cloaking fields with ease. In theory you could shoot down satellites with this thing, or alternatively snipe someone from orbit.

Thanks. It was actually the hardest gun to design because of the fact that I know how an AK works, and unfortunately I also care whether or not the gun would actually work after I made it bullpup.

That's also why I simultaneously like and dislike the M16 redesign, because to me it looks cool, but the rear sight is obviously too far back and is impossible to use. All because I wanted to keep the classic Colt carry handle on top.

My only problem is that I couldn't draw good enough to match the quality of the weapons, so I couldn't use it.

Nice job as always.

I'm not sure about what you're talking about exactly.

But thanks anyway.

We're still trying to decide whether we iclude fistfighting or not, or how to implement it so that it's challenging but fun.

I've done this for about 5 years now. At first I just did what I could with Paint, and then I checked out some tutorials that revealed some hidden features and bugs of the program.

After that I've just been mixing and matching features to achieve a pre-determined result. I picture in my mind the image I want to achieve, think of all the things I need to do in the middle, and go step-by-step from there, utilizing all the techniques that are available.

I don't know which ones are made with Paint.

But in case they all are, I'm going to be perfectly blunt by saying that it looks like you've just recently discovered the "curved line" -tool and that's basically all you have so far.

yah pritty much.

all the ones with thin lines and bleach white backgrounds are MS paints, i have a 3d model in there, and 2 hand drawns at the bottom.

but yeah i donno where to go from curved line...

I think I was 15 when I first started drawing with a computer. It wasn't until a few years later when I really started using MS Paint to create complex pictures. I'm 22 now so I guess one could say I've improved.

If one could freely use real brands in a game without some ridiculous law issues it would be amazing.

Or maybe we'd name them with ridiculous names and print matching textures for them, and then secretly release a "mod" that returns the real names and textures. No one could connect the mod makers to the actual developers.

Hahahahaha, sounds like you got a plan.

PLUT0NIA In reply to isloden [2010-03-14 21:34:09 +0000 UTC]

Getting around unjust laws is what I'm prepared to do to make our game better.

You know that Counter Strike was originally a HL1 mod created by Gooseman" and "Cliffe", and it had real-brand weapons with the actual gun ballistics in the details? When Valve obtained CS, they changed the names to gibberish because they made the mod commercial. About I dunno... a day after release, a mod was also released that took the file from the original mod and simply overwrote the file from the commercial game and returned the realistic info to the game.

And did any of the weapon manufacturers care? Hmm... Or have they ever cared? About anyone using their brands?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

isloden In reply to PLUT0NIA [2010-03-14 21:42:25 +0000 UTC]

Sounds like this is more than just a game, almost like propaganda.

Really? I didn't know that at all... I wonder if the mod creators ever got credit for their hard work. And yeah I've heard of mods in alot of games that return the 'original files' to the game for added realism, kinda funny they got taken out to begin with imo.

I'm sure that weapons manufacturers make so much money they don't really have a reason to care, and not only that, they have bigger fish to fry than video games, so you got a point.

PLUT0NIA In reply to isloden [2010-03-14 21:57:35 +0000 UTC]

Propaganda... that reminds me... I've been thinking that the plot of the game would be pretty much politically incorrect in many different ways. Reason? Because so few are.

I could note you some ideas and you could tell me what you'd think could be "offensive" to some self-righteous idiots.

Sounds like you got a very good concept going, are you going to put some dystopia in it, too?

And yes, please note me, I'll help you out.
