Handsewing with ladder stitch? with sewing machine?

Sure
The parts themselfes are first sewn using the sewing machine, I used a zigzag stitch (on the machine) to attach the yellow flames onto the red ones and for the white claws on the legs. The eyes are also made with a zigzag stitch.
You are right, all parts are attached to each other using a ladder stitch. It would also be possible to eg. use the sewing machine to attach the flames, but I prefer handstitching. I'd have to make a prototype with handstitching first anyways to even know where to put it. And since i'm not planning to make like 100 cyndaquils i just stick to handsewing. xD Of course manifactured plush always use machine sewing whenever it is possible because it saves time in mass production.

Maybe Cyndaquil's name came from the combination of cinder and quills like a porcupine? I guess the flames kind of look that way >_> but not really. . . .
