Description This coyote has made our backyard part of its rounds for the past three days. It forages in the garden around the deck and naps under the blue spruce. I shot this pic from inside the house.

I still can't believe this guy spent four days with us, sleeping under our spruce out back. Β That was probably three years ago.

What a great experience! I've only seen one in the wild briefly, he was running, so I never got a photo. Thanks so much for posting your photos!

I once saw a coyote trotting through the middle of a herd of bison. Β Neither the coyote nor the bison seemed the least bit concerned, which surprised me. Β But then, bison are herbivores and a coyote is not going to mess with an animal that size. Β It was interesting to see that relationship.

This is a lovely capture!

I have always wanted to see a coyote in the flesh. The only wild canines where I live are the red foxes, which if you're lucky you see in the street at night. So far I've seen the vixen with her two cubs which is something I'll never forget as they hung around for a while just playing and running around! It was a nice moment to see.

You are lucky to have such wildlife in your back garden, the most exotic for me so far was a male pheasant! Not a common sight where I live.

Thanks! Β Having the coyote visitor was a rare treat. Β We also get moose wandering through the back yard once or twice every winter. Β Now that's a sight to behold.

I lived in Pateley Bridge for three glorious years in the '80s and I remember pheasants wandering on to our back step and peering at us through the sliding glass door. Β They were incredibly beautiful.

Thank you for the nice words, Dennis. I really appreciate them, especially since I've been at an impasse lately. Is there such a thing as photographer's block? Anyhow, I just bought a telephoto lens and it promises to be incredible fun!
