I would like to introduce you to my inkdrian daughter, Leucine! °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°

Leucine is an uncommon inkdrian who sports a fun safflower~ She's about 19 years old by the time the plot I have figured out for her kicks up, and she's a certified nursing assistant in her small town's only hospital. She's hoping to one day become a registered nurse, but she's not entirely sure if she wants to be a general nurse or specialize in pediatrics, as she loves kids. She's a big bookworm and pretty introverted, which ultimately results in her coming across as shy and quiet. However, if she really comes to care for someone, expect her to be the biggest Mom Friend™ who will definitely be on your case to make sure you're eating well, warmly clothed, and generally loved and supported c:

However, underneath that kind and polite exterior lies a deep sadness that often leaves Leucine feeling a little empty. As a young girl, she and her mother, Isoleucine, often attended a local health clinic for their regular check ups. This health clinic often asked for volunteers in experimental procedures, in exchange for worthwhile compensation, such as tickets to see local shows, coupons to restaurants and malls, and so on. This sort of research program had been ongoing for years, and so many local townspeople participated in these simple research trials. However, after news of the OLCMC's ruin reached this small town, the integrity of their own local clinic was brought into question... and rightfully so.

Leucine was one of the many inkdrians who were roped into research regarding artificial inkdrians. In this particular study, it was believed that the ink of inkdrians could be used to save seedrians who had been previously infected with a fatal seedrian virus. Young Leucine was found compatible to a seedrian and was slated to be utilized in this hybridization process, but Isoleucine was able to step in before it was too late. Because Isoleucine had given birth to her daughter via asexual reproduction, she was just as compatible as Leucine was to the seedrian in question. Shortly after reuniting with her mother, Leucine was tearfully ripped away from her so that Isoleucine could be used for the experiment. This event was so traumatizing to her that she was left with her first gradient color: the orange of her mother's petals--a sight that had been so temporarily comforting before they became the very last thing she saw of her mother.

Leucine and many other inkdrians were saved not much later, but it was too late for her mother. This heartbreaking loss still haunts Leucine to this day, and her desire to be a nurse is related to her belief that maybe she can temporarily save people from death. Even if it's only a year, a month, a day, Leucine has a stalwart belief that time with loved ones is precious. As a result, she is incredibly wary of Stargazer, and uncomfortable with the idea that they only come to take people away. Her desire to save others was only compounded by the death of a friend of hers, not long after she entered the orphanage. A freak accident took Leucine's dear friend away from her, and, just like the red life source that had painted her hands that day, the color now colors her gradient as well, serving yet another reminder of the power of death has on her.

This fear of losing people to death has left Leucine a little hesitant when making friends. She cares easily, and she cares deeply, and the fear of losing someone precious to her yet again chains her into a state of living half-heartedly. This fear keeps her safe, but admittedly unsatisfied. She secretly longs for companions she can love and protect, just as much as she wishes to be loved so unconditionally once again. However, these wishes are often locked away in her heart, as she figures that she has more important things to do, like to take care of her patient in bed seven.

Little does she know, that patient might have just what she needs to get her to break free of her chains.
