Mit schmetterdem Getön',
Fanfaren und Trompeten,
am Hof das Fest des Frühlings.
Im Winde die Fahnen wehten.

Nebst Speis und Trank und viel Gesang
zur Freud' der Menschen all,
ein Turnier im Lanzenstoß,
der Preis war kolossal.

Wer als letzer auf dem Rosse -
derweil die anderen liegen -
darf mit des Königs liebster Tochter
beim Tanz die Glieder biegen.

So kamen sie von nah und fern
und stürzten ins Gefecht,
denn für diese tolle Frau
waren so manche Schmerzen recht.

Als ich ein junger Edelmann
schon fast als Sieger wähnte,
sah er den schwarzen Ritter an,
wie er am schwarzen Pferde lehnte.

"Willst du kämpfen oder warten!?"
schrie der Edelsmann
und ehe er es sich versah
spürte er wie man fliegen kann.

Der letzte Tanz!
Sie ist so zart wie die Rose.
Der letzte Tanz!
Es berührt sie sacht der Zeitlose.

So war es denn geschehen,
der schwarze Ritter war der Sieger.
"So will ich den Preis mir holen."
sagte er und kniete sich nieder.

Schwarze Wolken zogen auf,
als die Musik zum Tanze rief.
Das Volk blieb nurmehr angstvoll stehen,
als es gewahrte, was dort lief!

Sie ist so zart wie die Rose.

Es berührt sie sacht der Zeitlose.

Der letzte Tanz - Schandmaul

„You know, I thought about some kind of acting... To music... Schandmaul has some great songs with a wonderful message and story, we could use one of them...“ Melody sat in the grass next to Scar, who lay there, watching her with his good eye carefully.
„Your point being...?“, he asked her with a strange glance and sighed silently. There was probably something going on, when she started like that. Melody chuckled.
„Well, I can't play the Death, you know? But you're the perfect horse for this character, as he is portraied as the 'black knight'...“
Scar sighed again, but then he stood up and shook his neck.
„So... You want someone else to ride me? You must be kidding... You know that I would never...“
„But this would be so cool! And they're our friends!“
„They are YOUR friends, not mine, I haven't even spoken to one of them, nor do I want to, you know?“, the black stallion watched Melody, as she stood up too.
„Aw, come on. Viktor won't be too bad, don't you think? He's a very good rider, much better than I am and – I bet you boys will have fun!“
„Ah, so you want VIKTOR to be my rider. Now that's interesting. And how do you plan to get him near me? He shits in his pants, once I look at him, which is – if I may say so – very funny for me, but not quite what you need for your little medieval-act-thing...“
Scar sounded a bit amused, when he told her, but then he became serious again.
„You could just tell me, you're joking or look for another song, no? I will help you with your act, but I won't agree with someone else riding me. I've got a bad reputation, I want to keep it...“

It was a nice day in june, when Halfmoon Stables drove to Braunschweig, where Manticulâtor Stables hosted their Whitsun Festival. Moira, her young son Candy and Scar stood in the trailer, while the Nightmare had promised to leave them alone. That was no problem, since Moira usually did not annoy anyone and Candy liked the black Stallion a lot, so he would not go on his nerves either.
Sam had bought awesome costumes for them, especially for Melody, who would also bring her guitar to perform the song on her own.
When it was their turn and the music started, Sam and Viktor told the story with movements and dressage lections, as Melody sang the song about a knights tournament and a princess, and the death of course.

„You know, that you owe me one, no?“, Scar told Melody, after they had left the 'stage' and after Viktor had jumped off his back.
„Yeah, kinda, I think...“, she said and smiled. „But you're an awesome Death and – hey, it wasn't THAT bad after all...“

I drew this some time ago, but I wanted to wait for Candy being a bit older, so he could take part aswell.

Hope you all like it, it was a lot of fun to draw, since these horses are some of my favourites <3
