First drawing of 2009
Here is a drawing of my lovely girlfriend, Sandra.
I started this drawing 6 months ago. My goal was, like usual, to make my best work so far. In my opinion it is my best and it's definitely my favorite drawing ^^.
Time: 45 hours

About the arm. In my defense it doesn't look that way in real life. To much light on that end when I took the photo. The shade on the arm is pretty much black in real life. But I see your point!

I understand, it's difficult to get an angle like that 100% correct. I honestly think it doesn't impair the drawing at all; it's a wonderful piece!

It looks like you have found a photo, cropped out the background and put it through some filters. That's some serious skill you have!

Per..please tell me what is your Arches aquarelle paper...I tried with 300gr , but it seems very hard to shade on Arches Aquarelle 300gr(maybe it's not good decision

I believe that I used the 300gr with this drawing but I'm not entirely sure. It's not an easy paper to use depending on what you want to draw. You have to blend a lot to make it smooth. I think you have to try different material to be able to see what suits you. We all have out own styles when drawing.

well since i dont have a membershit, i will just send u an honest comment in place of a critique. so here i go
there is not much i can really say thats not perfect/ near perfect about this picture. the ONLY thing i could think of would be the outlines of this beautiful lady, they look a little odd. i cant tell if you were attempting at creating an illuminating look due to the completely white background.
That is really the only thing i could think of with this picture.
O and by the way...
how do you make the little icon for your profile? not the deviantID but the little pic that comes up on like the list of watchers and next to your name,

Hum, jag verkar inte kunna skriva "critique" till dej för att ja inte har subscription. men vad spelar de för roll vart man skriver de
Först och främst vill jag säga att jag tycker du har gjort ett väldigt bra jobb med denna, jag har följt utvecklingen hur du har jobbat o vet att du lagt ner dej mycke. O de syns verkligen på alla detaljer!
Dock kan jag tycka att hon är alldeles för mörk. om det var för att ljuset skuggar hennes ansikte, eller att du ville få mer kontrast till de andra, vet jag inte. Men det kan jag tycka ser mindre bra ut. Hur som helst kanske det skulle kännas bättre om du la till en mörkare bakgrund till henne. Att det då inte skulle bli samma skarpa kontrast mot henne, som får henne att se mycke mörkare ut, som den väldigt vita bakgrunden nu skapar. Det tror jag skulle kunna göra de bättre.
Men annars väldigt bra gjort!

Ja jag tror du har helt rätt. I verkligheten så är den faktiskt inte så mörk i ansiktet men här så ser den för mörk ut helt klart. Jag gjorde nog däremot halsen lite för ljus. Ja jag visste att att jag skulle gjort en bakgrund. Jag ångrar mig lite där,, men jag vågade inte riktigt just då

mm, kan ju hända att kontrasterna syns ännu mer så här. de vita blir liksom verkligen vitt när allt ljus kommer på de. Ja, de med halsen, hade jag inte tänkt på förens du sa de nu, men de kan nog göra att ansiktet känns ytterligare lite mörkare än vad de borde vara ja.
Är det försent att lägga till en bakgrund nu då?
Men jag vet hur du känner, jag ä alltid livrädd när ja har gjort hela teckningen o sen ska lägga till nån bakgrund, man ä så otroligt rädd för att sabba allt! På familjeporträttet la ja till bakgrunden sist. Jag tom tveka ett tag, ska ja verkligen göra de, i fall jag skulle råka sabba allt o de skulle bli förstört. Ja la ju ner hela min själ i den

The detail in the watch, hand, hair, jewelry, lips, the skin tone, wow!! Very impressive. One comment is that the face looks a bit dark like in the forehead or something. I think its from the nose up. Could have been a case of the scanner
