Description There was a boy
A very strange enchanted boy

-------------

Tom Hulce. One of my favorite actors. I doubt many are familiar with him, but i am very glad that i am. He is now over 50, but i still wanted to draw him from when he was young, because he was beautiful.

He's mostly known for movies like Animal house, Parenthood, Amadeus and Inner circle.

This is wildly good. I always thought Tom kinda looked liked Till Lindemann. When he was young that is.

One of my favorite actors, too. He's got such a pleasant voice, and happened to star in both my favorite live action film (Amadeus) and my favorite animated film (The Hunchback of Notre Dame). I always thought he was cute.

he is, he's brilliant it's been such a long time since i've seen hunchback of notre dame so i don't even remember it, but amadeus is definitely one of my all time favorite movies. i think it's such a pity that tom stopped acting..
and thanks for the fav

No problem! He hasn't really stopped acting, (the most recent thing I saw him in was a cameo in "Stranger Than Fiction" in which he played a psychiatrist who gives Will Ferrell a hug), he just hasn't done anything as big as Amadeus ever again, which is a shame. Hunchback might have been pretty big, and the fact that he voiced Quasimodo means a lot to me because it helps make that character more lovable. Hulce just has this...wonderfully pleasant voice. I'm sad we don't get to see more of him in Hollywood, but he's probably living a normal life now, which I'm sure he appreciates.

i know about that, but really it was such a small part. he hasn't done any movies apart from that recently. he has like a 2-second appearance in the credits of the movie Jumper, and that's it

yeah, tom actually always took more significant, artistic parts than big roles.. in a way it's really great he didn't get swallowed up in the hollywood frenzy he is producing now, but i'd die to see him act again i hate christmas-themed movies but i have to admit he'd make the perfect santa
and well yes, whatever he's doing now i hope he's happy

HAHAHA um yeah...he would make a perfect Santa.

The clever way to play with the background color, in stark contrast to the black and white portrait , enhances the beauty of this amazing picture.

Oi! I nearly overlooked it. I came to check your page (stalking in da house, ho-ho-ho! ) and saw it on the featured box, and I was like "WTF, I didn't see it in my watch box". Well, on the second though having over 8000 messages there it's no wonder

Anyways, the first thing I noticed and wanted to comment is how great warm and cold colours are emphasizing each other and then I read your description, you little colour theory swot That was a great idea, really. I'm sure it would have looked great even if you left it totally B&W, but this colouring thingy just adds to the general impression. And OMG, that quote at the beginning! I'm sure if Tom Happened to play Christian he would have done it just as greatly as Ewan did. That quote suits the drawing perfectly. Totally!

Is it seems to me or you finished the drawing really fast? Talk about drawing machines, huh?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Pencil-Stencil In reply to Inna-Vjuzhanina [2011-09-30 12:06:54 +0000 UTC]

hey hon, sorry for the late reply. mwahaha, i knew you'd stalk me and yeah, i downsized my watching capacity but i still have several thousand deviations in my inbox.... i know how you feel. until you reach 20 thousand you can't beat me thank god i got rid of that.

ahh, well you know, that song exists, every song in the moulin rouge was an existing one with their alterations yeah, i think he would have been great. but, it would look funny to look at nicole kidman and a 50-year-old man

hm, well it should have been finished faster, i just didn't have the time to draw when i wanted. mostly did on weekends, or should i say one weekend (after uni started).

thank you so much honey bunny

Inna-Vjuzhanina In reply to Pencil-Stencil [2011-10-01 15:42:24 +0000 UTC]

Of course I would. With lack of communication I can at least enjoy stalking

Wha?! 20 000? Woman, you rock

I first didn't get it why yo wrote about songs which were existing when used as OST for MR and then it occurred to me that you probably wasn't thinking about MR at all when adding this quote to the drawing I know about the songs, but many of those are always triggering associations only with MR Haha and no, I didn't mean 50-year old Tom, I meant when he was young

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Pencil-Stencil In reply to Inna-Vjuzhanina [2011-10-02 12:06:14 +0000 UTC]

perhaps i should draw another one of those poker buddies with hearts in eyes

well, don't you remember that time when i would take screenshots letting you know what a chaos my inbox has turned into in just a few days of neglect? thank god i can now leave it for 3 weeks and it doesn't exceed 3000. still a big number though, but what can i do, i'm lazy to browse through all that!

ah well, you're totally right, when i hear those songs i also associate them with moulin rouge. in fact i think i was thinking about the MR version when i wrote that quote, because the entire atmosphere was kinda well fitted. but i was just making sure you do know that this is a song *not to be a smart ass of course*

ah well yes, having young tom and young nicole play together would break so many laws of physics and time and space but it would have been great! i think he would do great in that role too. although i loved ewan, i love him as an actor too

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Inna-Vjuzhanina In reply to Pencil-Stencil [2011-10-03 10:36:58 +0000 UTC]

Yaaaay! That would be awesome But not before you finish you-know-what-kind-of-lineart.

How can I forget this?! I think I removed yesterday around a thousand and I still have 8 000 Paradox

Ok, true about time and space. But what about physics?

And the last but not the least - you didn't come to ICQ yesterday, did you?
