Description Some time ago, someone asked me to draw April as a turtle as she appeared in an issue of the Archie TMNT series. This happened in one of the few issues that I don't have, and I couldn't find an on-line reference. I hope this works and sorry it took so long the get her colored and posted.

I agree this is a better version of 1987 April as a mutant turtle then the one in the comics. They just were a little too lazy on "April's" design, they should of put more effort, even though she was a mutant turtle for too short of a time...

I think it was me who suggested you draw her as a turtle. Nice jon.

Thanks. I think she looks just like one of the guys in the comic.

I've read that comic before, but I must admit I like your version of April as a mutant turtle better!

In the Archie Comics, Turtle April resembled the other turtles (no distinguishing female anatomy traits) than she did the Venus De Milo design.

You can view the issue, "Archie Special #11" on this Russian fan-site:

Yea, I've seen that issue online. She didn't even have her hair after the mutation, which is kinda weird since Mondo Gecko kept his hair. Though Hamato Yoshi, Rocksteady and Man Ray didn't get to keep their hair when they were mutated.

Marvel No-Prize explanation: Mutagen is inherently unstable, yields inconsistent results, and is just plain weird!

Thanks. I have the first several specials and almost all the series but not that one.

In the 80's series, the episode called 'Rebel Without A Fin,' April was turned into a fish mutant, and after the turtles rescued her, so to speak, Donatello did make the comment about he wouldn't have minded her looking more like a turtle instead.

I remember that. She turned into a turtle in the Archie comic which I didn't see.
