Description
"A scholar should never waste their time drawing cartoons."so my father quotes.
Ashamed, I bury myself in books in his presence. But the more I read, the more I end up drawing something in his absence.
Books and their stories of people and their achievements has become a window; an escape where my imagination speaks of my dreams and hidden desires.
You see, I've always wanted to be an astrologist.

parents cannot control (and obviously cannot stop) the overflowing passion of their children to drawing.
obviously the reason is because they do not understand how one feels when they're drawing and that satisfying feeling of achieving something when the work is finished.

xD I always wanted to be an astrologist/astronomer too, but then I realized that I am terrible at math/statistics and have a short attention span. xP So I turned to my second passion and now I'mma go to art school~
I understand about the dad thing. @_@ My parents are always like, "Why don't you draw realistic?! Why are you always drawing cartoons?" @_@ They don't understand.

The concept is so cool and the background story is kinda sad but nice at the same time. And you've drawn it so well! I always have the problem of knowing what I want to draw and show through my drawing but when it actually comes to drawing it I fail so spectacularly. But you don't seem to have that problem

hi im somewat new XDD but i really like how u use the ink in this drawing n some others. can i ask wat ink and things u used to ink it? i use regular nib pens and ink but im still a beginner and i still have alot to learn XD but could u maybe give me some tips?
oh and i really really like the drawing ^^ i like the pose n the stars hanging down lol really a great drawing!

I use a regular GPen/SpoonPen (I don't know what brand it is though..) and black indian ink. When it comes to inking large areas, I usually use a brush pen.. which is like a chinese calligraphy brush, except it already has ink in it XD
as for tips.. ahh... I'm still learning as well so I don't know what kind of tips to give you... but I think it's very important to plan ahead since mistakes are hard to correct with ink.
oh yes, and don't ever, EVER use lousy thin paper because ink tends to seep through and ruins everything T_T (100gsm should be good enough)

thank u so much for commenting back! and thank u for the tips. i started using nib pens about 3 months ago n i really like using them so i want to learn more but thank u alot for a idea on the nibs use n ill look for a brush pen next time i go shoping. i usually use very thick paper when i do inks lol
anyway thank u for the tips ^^ btw i looked at ur work. alot are really good! i hope i can see more of ur work ^^

I love books! But I'm usually too lazy to stare down and read text... I prefer picture books and manga.. *short attention span too
but for something really intelligent and scientific I recommend "Manhole" and "20th Century Boys"! the art style is not too attractive, but the plot is deep!!
