Just to realize how long these were used, this could also be as late as early nineteenth Century USA. The immigrants learned from the Swedes (and Finns) of the 17th Century.

Ordinarily, telling you that you take great photos isn't telling anything new from me. But this one is made with a Lumia 950 mobile phone, instead of a Canon EOS 550D! π² Now, that's something! Great work. Apart from the fact that taking good photos on a phone needs steady hands, this model is made by Microsoft, so its obscure OS doesn't give you the benefit of the top-of-the-line shooting apps.
Of course, I understand you must have trimmed and corrected it somewhat. Lumia 950's lens effect is absent.
By the way, the cottage seems to have three holes cut out into it, then blocked. What are they?

This is at Pukkisaari island (near Seurasaari island) in Helsinki, Finland. It's not an actual village, but some buildings that demonstrates the architecture of the Iron Age era in Finland. I'd like to see it as a village though, it's fascinating.
