Juliet grew up in Shalour City, right outside of the fighting gym in Kalos. Always fasinated with pokemon, although she never had the urge to battle with them. It was always the aesthetic part of them that drew her to them, she drew the from afar and always asked her friends if she could draw their pokemon when they got one. It was relaxing and she enjoyed it, it was a way to get away from her home life and the stress it caused.
Home was much different from the time she spent with her friends. Her parents who were divorced, thankfully, both lived in Shalour. But her mother would often get drunk and forget to take care of the female, most nights she'd go hungry or try to cook for herself which always ended up with her cutting her finger or burning herself. Giving herself a terrible burn mark on her leg from trying to bake something and dropping it, her time at her father's house was much better. She was pampered and princessed by him, she was able to go out with him and have a good time, unlike with her mother.
Soon after turning 18, she moved in completely with her father and cut her mother out of her life. Spending time with him was relaxing. He had his fair share of pokemon she could relax with and draw, but it gave her a craving. Realizing in that moment, she wanted a pokemon. She had recently turned 22 when she thought it would be nice to have a pokemon of her own, it would help expand her knowledge on the world around her and she could draw them, right?. Of course the ones in the house were technically hers, but they felt more like her father's. She thought it would be nice to be able to see a different part of the world instead of being confined to the same area. It would be a nice change of pace, right? She didn't mind Shalour, it was where she'd met some of her best and closest friends, but it was mostly a city for a gym, unlike Lumiose City which was a huge city and had a gym there.
She didn't tell her dad face to face she was leaving, but she left him a note and took her things, hoping he wouldn't be mad at her suddenly leave. He would most likely be pissed, but she could live with that.
