Here is to all of the cubist sailors I have ever known. Especially the ones wearing pants made of octopus hide. Especially the ones welding machetes. Or wielding machetes, if you prefer.And most especially this is for all of the cubist sailors with detachable eye telescopes. And who are wearing octo-pants while welding/wielding machetes...
And the cubist sailors who sail crooked ships. May the fish be with you.

Well, Octo-pants are an exclusive design.
A book would be fun to do, but I never know whether to write the book first and then illustrate...or line up a bunch of random drawings and then write the story to go around it.

God, you've got to be one of the absolute coolest chicks. Each new drawing brings a different, (disturbingly) creative, and a (quite often) very humorous quality to them. The octopus hide or "octo-pants" are such a great idea and so friggin' cool looking. But seriously, I don't doubt that you know several machete welding/wielding cubist sailors with detachable eye telescopes wearing octo-pants...but crooked ships? That's absurd.

Whereas I know several machete welding/wielding cubist sailors with detachable eye telescopes wearing octo-pants-not a one of them has a crooked ship. That's an absurdity, and I admit that by adding it, I took great artistic license, and only to spiff up a realtively boring subject matter.
Next time, I'll just go ahead and draw in the souped-up, four-wheel drive, all terrrain, square submarines like they really drive.
