Description Request for R.R. An illustration based off of his poem.

See the guy on the right? He is holding onto his soul, so that the weird goggly eyed guy on the left doesn't suck it out. The Spectre is also supposed to exist within the mind of the subject, thus the telescope so that the man can look into his own mind. The soul sucking spectre is what he sees. Those are escaped souls floating amongst the trees; and the hanged woman is supposed to represent melanchly and despair; which is what attracts the spectres. I enjoyed illustrating this poem, even if the main spectre looks kind of like Kroenen from Hellboy.

Thank you very much. I don't really have a technique...just draw it in pencil, then ink it in carefully! Sometimes it takes several 'editions' before I get it neat enough...

Good work on the black and white and all the details, it's very balanced and I like how you filled out the entire canvas and how the white just goes out into the frame. It has a lot of interesting parts and symbolism.

Thanks! I wanted to experiment with a different style for awhile and filling up the entire page was part of the plan. I had to really work to think up enough stuff to fill in the background. But I am glad that you like it, makes the work worthwhile!!
