I already got all the dumb, just-for-fun changes for Stygian out in a previous post , so this one is just to fit him in with the rest of the Pillar redesigns. Not much, just darker eyes and the proper ancient unicorn features he should have.

Compared to the canon, Stygian just straight up stays the same. Really, I just made the shadows the Pillars were unintentionally casting over him waaay bigger. How could a common pony like him, a drifter with no place to call home, compare to such illuminated heroes? I'd shack up with a spooky shadow demon too.

Stygian's special talent is writing. His autobiography, Me and My Shadow, was an instant hit not just because he's a pony from a time long passed, but because he's a genuine wordsmith.

The Pony of Shadows is not so easily purged, even with the combined strength of the past and present Elements of Harmony. A fragment of the shadow lives on in Stygian, inextricably bound to him, but small enough that it can no longer influence him. He has abilities superficially similar to King Sombra's, albeit on a much smaller scale, and definitely needs practice before he can comfortably wield this new strength.
