Appearance: Dark and unsmiling, Creed is a hard, powerful presence in the Shadowlands. Muscular and built like a truck, he is nonetheless not bulky. His mane and tail are long, dark and unadorned. His eyes are a shade of dark pewter and his heartstone is a deep, rich blue in his chest (though it now looks fairly dull and dim).

Personality: Creed is a powerful, leader type of a stallion. He is a fair commander, but he doesn't accept any crap from those around him and will not hesitate to discipline those in his command if they perform badly. A fierce fighter with a unique ability to see the bigger picture in battle, he is nonetheless gentle and affectionate to those closest to him. He would do anything for those close to his heart, and everybody knows it.

Now, he is something of a shell of himself. Grimmer than he ever was before, Creed seems to be operating almost emotionlessly -- doing what he has to do on auto-pilot. He is clearly haunted by the death of his brother and the Twisting of his best friend and foster-niece, and it is only his duty and his mate keeping him going.

History: He was a war horse before, and he had a rider whom he was very attached to. Unfortunately, Creed was killed in battle one day. When the Wraith came to offer him the deal, he took it to save his rider. However, despite his best efforts, his rider was killed. Ashamed, Creed allowed himself to die once more.

When he woke from his second death into his undeath as a Wraith, Creed was amazed to find that his rider had also followed him into Wraithhood -- and nothing was quite as strange as hearing his rider's voice coming from a lanky, off-coloured bay horse. (Creed and Greith - Over Time )

Though they weren't by any means the first Wraiths, Creed and his old rider, Greith, quickly took up a position of leadership in the Shadowlands. Creed, much to his surprise, found he had something of a leader's soul, and with Greith's quiet advisory presence by his side the once-scattered Soul Wraiths assembled and became a herd, working together and forming bonds of brotherhood in death.

At one point, Creed found himself and roughly half the herd trapped deep in the depths of the Void. Scared but knowing their panic would bring no good, Creed fought to keep his team alive in the endless dark. It was a struggle and some Wraiths were inevitably lost, but somehow they managed to stay mostly whole until they were rescued from the Void by a team of Wraiths that had remained outside.

With the reunification of the herd, all seemed well... until the Void Wraiths began to go Twist. One by one, the horses Creed bonded with in the darkness began to change, turning into walking nightmares. Creed did his best to keep control, however it quickly became clear that it would be impossible -- after all, a number of Wraiths that had not even been in the Void began to go Twist.

Including Creed's partner, Greith.

Desperate, Creed agreed to a plan suggested by his younger brother, the head mage Vasilli; using his magic, the little bay would forcefully expel all the untwisted Wraiths from the Shadowlands, trapping the Twisted Wraiths within... with him. And he would keep them there until he found a cure.

A last, ditch plan, but it worked. The Wraiths and the world of the living were protected from the touch of the Twisted Wraiths... but at a cost. The herd was scattered, unable to return home and unable to rest. They continued to do their jobs, and it wasn't perfect but it was... survival.

It seemed the rest of their undeath would continue on like so, until the day the wards surrounding the Shadowlands fell. The Wraiths poured back into the Shadowlands, hope swelling in their chests. After all, the fact Vasilli had taken his wards down had to mean a cure had been found and it was safe to return.

Except... it soon became apparent that that wasn't the case. The mage hadn't brought the wards down... they had come down around him when his heartstone simply shattered within his chest from the strain.

And the Wraiths were back where they started, without their last line of defence.

But there was no choice but... to go on. Since then, Creed has worked to bring the herd together once again, trying desperately to keep them safe even with the threat of Twists within the Shadowlands.

Other Notes:
Creed was trapped in the Void, but somehow he never went Twist.
Creed switched his heartstone with his beta, Greith, in the early days of his Wraithhood. Even now Greith has gone Twist, he can still feel the other Wraith's presence... however, he hasn't gone in search of the Twist, and the Twist doesn't seem to have any interest in approaching the herd.
Under Creed's direction, Twists are not to be killed. He is desperate to find a cure for the Twisting, though he is fast losing hope.
Creed looks mostly like he did when he was alive, except for his black chin and neck markings. Nobody but Greith knows that the black markings actually mark the way he died -- his jaw and throat shot out by an explosion in battle.
