Description

Hello, humans! I use machine translation. If you see a typo, please correct me.

I continue from the place where I finished last time.

In Dome-6, the life support system is malfunctioning and there is no ventilation and no wind. Therefore, low-mobility creatures use this flying bubble to spread their spores. Everywhere where this thing appears, after a few days, tumors and all kinds of small pests grow. Farm workers call it mimic. Mimic has a harmless, but frightening ability to invade any, even the most secure, radio communications and imitate people's voices. This creature can speak in any human voice, giving out meaningless sets of phrases. You can not suspect that you are talking on the radio not with another person, but with this flying meat from depths of the forest.

Killing mimic is quite difficult because, barely aware of the danger, it releases a storm of vile spores that reduce visibility. It looks like a black snowfall and it is impossible to chase after it in such conditions. If you are not sure that you will kill mimic with one shot, then it is better not to even approach it.

Interesting that so many people make the connection to Lovecraft when there obviously is none. It's rather a similar mindset behind it.

But I'm pretty sure you don't pretend to be a Gentleman from George III. times even after Vodka influence

Anyway, amazing creature design, and again, I feel the textures worked out nicely.

And as always a question - it seems to be relatively harmless itself - what does it live on?

as an afterthough - how about a Boyar from Pyotr Velikys times?

I did not understand anything except the first line. I wanted to ask you as a specialist why there are so many comments about lovecraft, but you got ahead of my question.

In dome-6 there are many creatures that have tentacles instead of the usual limbs. It is much easier for Red Vine to construct a tentacle than a balanced limb with movable joints, even many alien subspecies do not have bones, including seekers.

That translator must be taken behind the house and shot.

Don't mind what I wrote.

Question: What does it eat? It looks slow and harmless except for the spores

OneOut In reply to Magnus-Strindboem [2019-08-24 02:34:59 +0000 UTC]

This is the red T-energy created from the bodies of living humans. Ezzo use it to create new worlds, but here it plays the role of an energy source. Due to this, some creatures are fed and electronic devices continue to work, even when the Dome is de-energized.

And I would not say that it is completely harmless. If you scare mimic, then in those places in a few days there will be a lot more new monsters than usual. This is dangerous, you know.

Do those creatures fight each other? Or do they only attack humans?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OneOut In reply to Magnus-Strindboem [2019-08-24 17:10:51 +0000 UTC]

The next creature will attack everyone who stands in its way.

Usually, creatures here do not attack each other, because they perform certain tasks in the ecosystem. But they can eat other sick or weakened creatures.

And I want to thank you again for your support. When my works get high enough in popular ones, I have to read all sorts of crap about Lovecraft and Warhammer. It seems that people besides this did not see anything else in their lives. It looks like a mass insanity.

Magnus-Strindboem In reply to OneOut [2019-08-25 02:42:40 +0000 UTC]

That is to be expected.

Lovecraft assumed that anybody knowing to much about this stuff would become insane.

He was right!

This is the most harmless thing that it can do. Just stay close to the seekers.

Hello:

H.P Lovecraft approves . No really, it is a cool design because it is hard to get to figure-out what it thinks or acts, so that information you give is more than invaluable!

People write to me so often about warhammer and lovecraft that I’m too lazy to argue.

Chiletrek In reply to OneOut [2019-08-23 03:03:53 +0000 UTC]

Well, those two names are deep in the collective consciousness by now so you cannot blame them . But also it is because of the feelings your drawings give people... although it is best just to talk for myself, I like the mistery behind the entities you create.

I create a world with an infinite number of objects, living things, and more. Of course, it is absolutely impossible to make sure that every thing is not like any of the created or imagined by humanity for all of history.

So it is, just people rarely read dozens of descriptions and watch hundreds of drawings, they have no desire to delve into what is happening here.
