ha...probably because it looks like the building is about to change like the wheather...because i got a similar thought...I thought of it as growing into the darkening sky...

You stood there just right to catch the reflections right, and to have those lines cross at fine angles and everything. The dramaticism that you achieve with this weather is enormous, also because it gives you so much variation with all those hard lines in there.

Wicked angle, I love these types of shots, and I haven't seen anyone do it better around here, that's the truth. The sharp angles, the reflections, it's all good.

i never like the effects of grayscaling a photo as compared to shooting it with b/w film ... but i like the clouds in this version very much.

Nice. I loved this photo when you first submitted it... but it looks even greater with the B&W.

Both versions are awesome, but in deference to my dear friend Bookdiva, I must disagree. The color shot has a rich vibrancy that the greyscale doesn't.

The greyscale is incredible, but I like the color shot just a wee bit better.

bookdiva [2002-08-17 16:05:47 +0000 UTC]

I love them both, but the greyscale is awesome. You demonstrate such an ability to capture the lines and reflections of light in your work, and this photo is another prime example of that.

Really nice aswell, I'm
usually a B/W type of
person, but I must say,
in this special situation,
I like the color version better!

Still excellent work!

Keep it up!

alright i have concluded that the color version is better than this one even though the colors mix...only because this is greyscaled, not monochrome. if you remember exactly where you took it, i suggest maybe shooting in monochrome on your camera, the same picture?
there will be a bit of a difference, trust me. err maybe not, but there should be? bah shoot me if im wrong, haha

i do admire this angle tho....quite pretty! yum

Although I love the color version, I'm a B&W junky most of the time
This shot is magnificent, as mentioned on the color version. But here, it shows the wonderful tonality of the image. Very nice job on this shot overall. It works in both color and B&W beautifully. The composition is just stunning. The architecture is so monolithic and awe-inspiring.
