Loki woke up to sudden sharp cry and for a moment he thought he should run. The room was dark, however, and the screaming soon turned to soft sniffing. And someone began to sing a lullaby.
He knew that he didn't know the song and he knew that he should go back to sleep. He knew that it was impossible for him to remember it even if he could've heard something like it when he was born. He knew it well enough. He also knew that he couldn't understand its meaning, for the Jötun tongue was not something he could fully comprehend without the All-tongue.
Still the feeling he got as he listened to a mother's song to her child was strange. Almost soothing, but at the same time very upsetting. It hurt a little. And he did feel slightly uneasy still - slightly homesick, even if he wasn't quite sure what home was anymore.
He forced himself to lay down again and bury into his furs. It was better to try and sleep than stay awake and worry for things that were not going to change.

Colouring practice, mostly, a darker and a lighter version. And I was listening to Scottish Gaelic lullabies and old Finnish and Sámi songs. Loki shortly after his first arrival in Jötunheim during this story arc I still have no name for. Just assume all my future Jötun Lokis link to the previous ones unless I say otherwise.
