Description A personal work I did as a birthday Present for one of my dearest friends Finstarr . We both are big Conan and Frank Frazetta Fans. He was giving me a nice Conan Anthology to Christmas 2010. So I painted a picture from that Book, its the second of Howards Conan Storys called "The Frost-Giant's Daughter". There is an painting of Mr. Frazetta which takes the same Scene, so its an homage to him as well.

Interesting, looks almost exactly like the Conan illustration that Petar Mezeldzija is working on right now. Check his blog to see what I mean.

Aber egal, klasse gemalt. Und Conan rockt sowieso.

Herr Mezeldzija hat sich da wohl ebenso wie ich von Mr.Frazetta inspirieren lassen.. (s.Link in der Bild beschreibung.)
Da die Geschichte "Ymirs Tochter" wesentlich mehr Illustrations würdige Stellen hat als das es zu derartigen doppelcreationen kommen sollte.
Aber sein Bild ist genial und ich hab sein Blogg gleich mal in die favoritenliste genommen

Mein Kommentar war auch in kleinster Weise als Vorwurf gedacht. Der Hintergrund der Entstehung beider Illustrationen ist mir ja bekannt

Ich fand die Situation nur echt interessant.
Schön dass die Mezeldzija gefällt - wenn dir sein Stil zusagt, empfehl ich dir sein Buch "Legend of Steel Bashaw". Das ist voll von hochwertigen Kunstdrucken seiner Werke und illustriert eines der Märchen, mit denen er als Kind aufgewachsen ist. Sehr, sehr geil gemacht. Kann man viel von lernen.

Vielen Dank für den Hinweis, muss zu meiner Schande gestehen den Herrn nicht gekannt zu haben.. Eine Bildungslücke die ich aber sehr gern schliesse ich denke ich weiss also welches Buch ich mir als nächstes zulegen werde . ich finde auch die Werke die er in seinem Blog vorstellt absolut genial.
Werde gegen meine normale Ablehnung der ganzen Blogerei, hier in Zukunft wohl noch den einen oder anderen grossartigen Künstler entdecken dürfen

It's so nice to see people who've read the stories. Howard's writing is superior to every celluloid incarnation I've ever seen. As for the art, I LOVE IT! You really nailed the giants, though I wouldn't have minded seeing Ymir's daughter, yes?
