Shantae was the Half Genie guardian of Scuttle Town and has fought off against various villains in her home town. One day, she was visited by Vezon from the Matoran Universe and not only did she lose her powers by being fused into a katana blade, but also her mother in the process. This rendered Shantae into a human again.

Both excited and saddened, Shantae has hoped to free her mother AND her powers by stealing Vezon's fusion staff and be a Half Genie once again.

SPOILERS WARNING:

Shantae defeated Bowser in the most recent Mortal Brothers tournament and has exiled him to never live on Smashrealm under his control again.

Unfortunately for her, that joy was not to last. Still disappointed to failed to taking Vezon's fusion staff, Shantae has been journeying across Earthrealm with Ratchet, Clank, Axonn, Meta Knight and Luigi to find Vezon and his Black Dragon clan.

To make matters worse, Megakahn has invaded Earthrealm and will destroy everything by force unless if they participate in his Cybertronian Mortal Brothers tournament. Vezon is even in this one. This could be her last chance to catch Vezon and see her genie mother again out of the Kuaka blade.
