Sketchdump of Les Misérables fanart.Since I’ve not posted much in the last few months while still drawing at my usual pace, I’ve instead compiled some of my accumulated doodles into huge sketchdumps (organized by topic or fandom).
While most of these doodles are unspecific conjurations from my brain, a few were inspired:
-The Javert on the right, facing outward with a truncheon under the arm is Uwe Kröger
-The right-facing Valjean under the leftmost triple-caped Javert was inspired by ~hun-tun ’s design
-The Grantaire and short-haired Enjolras under the sleeping Javert were inspired by David Thaxton’s Headbutt of Camaraderie from this video [link] (7:25)
-The flag-waving Enjolras directly below them is ex-ÅST Enjolras Rune Sæter
-The two modern-dressed Valjean and Javert pairs on the lower right were inspired by *AsheRhyder ’s fancomic Roommates.

Great job on all the sketches, though the sleeping, troubled Javert is definitely my favourite here (love how you drew his hair). And that sketchy one from the top of the page is also wonderfully done, you've captured so much emotion with just a few lines - bravo.

the number of Les-Mis fans has the different world in each heart. All of them seem to be similar and are slightly different. This is very interesting.

Have I mentioned that I love your designs for Javert? I am particularly pleased by his permanent scowl, which is a very appropriate default expression for him, and the way that he looks like he's scowling even when he's not actually doing so. (And I can't put it exactly into words, but I am very fond of the visual of Uwe Kroger as Javert. Nicely done!) Well done, over all.
(Also, that lower right one made me do a double take, and then grin. I love how you've portrayed them there.)
On a critical level, I again applaud your linework. Even the unfinished parts of these sketches give enough clarity to what they depict that they still contain all the presence and emotion of a fully shaded picture. Excellent work.

I very much didn't like it when I drew it. It was my birthday, it was pouring rain, and I was on a bus riding home from a trip, having just lost my wallet (and therefore driver's license) in another State.
