Last one, and the most recent. Probably the best Marius I've done and he's passed out and beaten up. Go figure. I don't know. I think I need to draw Valjean using Colm Wilkinson as a reference. That guy is my hero as Valjean.Les Miserables is (c) Victor Hugo and those awesome people that wrote the play and I'm too lazy to look up.

I did like that "hauling Marius" scene. Especially when he got his watch stolen in the sewers.

I love the lowest one of Jean Valjean carrying Marius. The differences in shades and neatness makes Marius seem like such a burden and captures the motion

all of your Les Mis sketches are great. They really seem to be the exact way I picture them in my head too, especially Javert (who is by far the best character). I really like that you can almost tell which exact lines your characters are singing.

I've never quite seen this type of style before.. of course, it goes without saying that everyone has their own specific style, but I think this one is quite unique. You really ace expressions, but you also give these characters some realism that, for the life of me, I cant figure out how to do xD
But on to the reason I started looking at these. For a school project, I need to make a storybook (or some other project, but I've chosen to do this) and wanted a guide to draw some of the characters. I would like your permission to use some of these sketches for the children's book I'm going to be making- it's not going to be published or anything, and the only people who'll see it will be my classmates, my teachers, and any future students who look through our class's projects. Thanks for considering!

Oh god yes, Valjean carrying Marius. I love that look of grim determination on his face. You get expressions down so well. Seriously. Do something more with that one. Please!

I cannot give critique 'cause I haven't a clue what they should look like - ne'er seen or read Les Miserables. But gosh darn if it doesn't make me want some human art from you. ):

I don't know if musicals are your thing, but I'd HIGHLY recommend at least watching the 10th Anniversary concert on youtube. It is of epic proportions.

I will check it out! And I am indeed a musical man, I just haven't seen many. Wicked! and Aida were absolutely wonderful, and I still want to see RENT... I am told of numerous others I should see (such as PotO, but I've never been terribly interested in it), but am as of now limited and ign'ant. :C

Aw, I wanna see Wicked! But yeah, Les Mis has some SPECTACULAR music. Especially Valjean's pieces. "Bring Him Home" and "The Confrontation" are just two epic examples. PotO always struck me as a girl's musical anyway.
XD I was gonna wait to see what ya wanted, but thought "LET'S DRAWZ NICK, YA." and that was about the end of it. ._. I miss chatting with ya'll.
