This is the cover for my MLP:FIM fanfic, Flitter . It tells a story of a changeling living peacefully in Canterlot until some stupid Queen's full-scale invasion shatters his whole life.The changeling is based on an image from the (now defunct) Ask A Changeling tumblr
The pony is a recoloured mix of a whole lot of free vectors from DeviantArt, including this , this and this .
The background is a screenshot from the last episode of Season 2, edited to have a more visible shield at the right side.

I like this. Like he was originally a sleeper agent and grew accustomed to Pony life but now finds it hard to help his original comrades in arms.

He's not really a sleeper agent, though. He was from a completely different hive, which kept itself to rules that allowed them to slip in and out of Equestrian society without anyone realizing they even existed. He has no love for this queen and her locust swarm tactics, at all.

Dude, I love this. Some time I'll get to reading the fic. I have an OC changeling critter myself and the concept of there being more than one changeling living amongst ponies interests me quite a bit.

Well, seeing as they were made for silent infiltration, it only seemed logical
As for the pic, I tried to get a nice horizontal and vertical line into it, with the breaking shield behind him forming a parallel with the disguise getting torn away. I think it worked out quite nicely

Took me a while to get this right... the first version didn't have the shield at the right side, or the paper shreds. Transparency masks are SO much fun to mess around with

There's nothing "kind" about Flitter's hive; they replace dead loved ones, deceiving their lovers into giving them love. I wrote quite some information on my view on them in the comments at FimFic. They're Equestria's versions of malevolent fae. In his case, it just worked out a bit differently, since the dying stallion he replaced made him swear to stay with her as long as she needed him.
