Holy mother of God. It's been six months since I've last submitted a piece. Let's just say it's been hectic- and thank goodness things are slowly settling down. It's been six months. Life is good.
Ok, let me start off by saying that this is the first time I've ever attempted anything like this- painting myself, and with no reference at that. People have told me I've succeeded in capturing my likeness. I'd like to think that that is true.
I've named the piece One and the Same because more than any other character I feel that Azrael represents a significant part of my psyche. He lives as I do, breathes as I do, and as long as I live I will never forget him- I'm sure of it. For representing all that he is and for being such an incredible muse I have no choice but to thank the portion of my mind that has given me such a joy and pleasure through his fabrication. Therefore I dedicate this piece to none other than Azrael himself.
Have a merry Christmas everyone. I'm sorry for keeping you for so long, but I hope that the wait was at least worth it. Thanks for being here, and allowing me to escape from real life every now and then.

Cool there he goes again. He is one of my top 5 favorite characters that somebody created here on DA. Super awesome hair and eyes. It took me a long time for my male OC's to have pretty eyes (most of my work is traditional though.)

Thanks a lot. I've been so idle lately, well, too busy for leisure I should say. It's been a while since I've done him but I am currently finishing a new and updated piece of him that I'm quite satisfied with.
Mm, eyes were the most difficult part for me as well. Especially if I have a clear image of him in my head and have to translate him onto virtual canvas. I usually spend three to four hours getting the facial structure and eyes in the sketch just right.

Thank you. Haha, actually I wanted to be realistic 'cause that is the exact face I make when I take photos. I'm smile-phobic it seems, so I just turn like stone. I also look like that when I daydream, which is why I think the expression is appropriate.
